Publisher's summary

This book was previously published as The Conversion (Book One of the Harvesting Machine Trilogy).

Convicted (Book One of the Paradigm Shift Trilogy) begins the story by explaining how after being beaten and emotionally bruised by two ex-husbands, Hope Anderson seeks the comfort she once felt within her family church. Upon her first visit back, she sits on the last row to secure her anonymity. Desperate to find comfort and acceptance, Hope felt judgmental eyes instead. Regularly plagued by fear and paranoia, Hope seeks counsel and finds it through a female evangelist on television. The woman's depiction of love and her explanation of a spiritual journey prompts Hope to ask God for the same. He grants her request. Hope is taught how to pray effectively because of her journey with the Holy Spirit. With intercession, Hope is also granted supernatural gifts of spiritual sight and hearing. She faces demons bravely through her faith in the Holy Spirit to help others. When Hope's journey is over, she does not turn her back on her church or on her colleagues at work. Convicted, she boldly stands and fights for them using her superpowers. It is through this process that Hope learns to love herself and other people and to forgive. Living happily with her Lord, Hope is faced once again with what caused her immense fear and paranoia. The fight for her life begins, and it is the worst physical and spiritual battle imaginable!

A decent story .

Hope is one that you come to know and see her struggle with bad marriages and bad overall life but in the end she soon begins to realize that she can and is able to she reach out to God directly for help and of all things she needs so much finally help in guidance which as a result the Holy Spirit is sent to be there to assist her in learning the immediate lessons she needs to grow her self assurance in her beliefs, and to educate her in learning all about her gifts. Hope is given a vital task in order to be able to access soon her gifts with the angels and as well demons. That’s all I will say for now you’ll have to get the series for anything more

Tis Every Season for an Epiphany

As a believer for over 40 years... I realized I had forgotten... not that God & Jesus loved me, but how much He missed my not using the gifts He gave me. Not just talents, but powerful spiritual gifts of discernment, power over darkness, prayer language, the companion of His Angels and especially the Holy Spirit's wisdom and comfort.

Raven has reminded us how walking with the Lord in a constant mindful state is far more powerful than the world's tools & many counterfeit ways of life. If you need your faith jump started or have been hungry for a more deeply satisfying relationship with God.... read how Hope Anderson turns her scary broken life around thru the love, forgiveness & power of the Father, Jesus & Holy Spirit ... and God's very real heavenly and human angels.

This is no sappy novel. It is not fantasy. Yes, it is a novel, but the real walk with spiritual eyes wide open & the power that is available for the asking, is very real. With drama, redemption & romance, I highly recommend this book.

The performance by Paula Slade gave props & respect to Raven's story. The characters were beyond just multiple adult and children human voices. Ms Slade fearlessly & consistently captured them all along with the celestial & demonic. She will have you on the edge of your seat. You will laugh, you might cry ... you will feel. Listen to this novel. You'll thank me later.

The book was an amazing read and the audio book allowed the story to come more alive. The reader can actually look at Hope's struggles and triumphs, not as a bystander, but as someone who shares the same experiences.

Unique Christian Fantasy

This book is really unique with lots of Bible verses and thoughts coming from both God and also Satan. Hope’s journey is unique and we get to experiment so much with her I felt like I was there living every detail with her.

The message is overall really good and although we might go thought so much, God is right there with us.

Narration was fairly good and brought the story to life.

The overall message is God gives us salvation and all we have to do is accept him unto our lives and form a daily relationship with him.

There were some tough scenes towards the conclusion with some stressful moments when Satan tries to destroy Hope and her new found love for God. This book made me want to reevaluate my relationship with God. The Holy Spirit is a constant presence with Hope and guides her in her mission.

This is an usual book but interesting different than anything that I’ve read so far. I’m looking forward to learning more about Hope’s mission in the next book.

3/5 Odd Mix of Christian Fantasy and Rated R Myste

*mild spoilers possible in discussion, though I will keep things as vague as possible.

Summary: Hope Anderson has the ultimate God encounter and picks up some awesome spiritual gifts to boot.

Additional Comments:
The Neutral:
- The training scenes dragged on too long. That section’s about ½ the 12 hour book.
- Certain details like where Hope works were not very clear throughout the book. Not even sure the title of the place is given, except it’s a labor office. The whole reports thing kind of lost me because I wasn’t sure what these people did. Sounded like tax collection for a while.
- The pacing is very slow for about 10 hours.

The Oddities:
- Most of the book is squeaky clean in terms of language and content, but there’s a scene about 11 and a half hours into the 12 and a half hour audiobook that blows all that away. It’s a very odd mix. On the one hand, it’s honest about how twisted people can be, but literally the entire rest of the 12+ hour book was church picnics and Hallmark channel he-loves-me-but-I’m-not-ready-for-another-man romance stuff. Seriously, even most of the spiritual warfare went down like “she saw a creepy demon and glared at it … it screeched and went away” then BOOM hardcore torture for 5 minutes and BOOM again back to Hallmark romance. Gives one mental whiplash.
- This is probably only an issue with the audiobook. But most of the book is in the first person perspective, yet there are several shifts to God’s point of view or Satan’s point of view. In a book, you can have things like asterix to set apart these sections, but this audiobook lacked any such forewarnings of an abrupt scene shift. (It made the narrator sound nuts, though the rest of her performance was okay.)
- One overall end message came across as “God wants you (Hope) to grow the kingdom by having babies with his brothers” which might be true, but out of context just comes across as weird.
- The cover does not fit the vibe for the book. I’m getting nightclub scene vibes from the cover not spiritual warfare. It would fit better if Hope was an alcoholic addicted to champagne or something.

The Good:
- There’s some cool spiritual warfare stuff.
- The way spiritual gifts were handled in here is pretty cool.
- I liked some of the scenes of Hope training with God.

Conclusion: If you can handle a LOT of intensity in one scene and a much more sedate pace everywhere else, it’s an intriguing peek into spiritual warfare.

Very religious story

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

This was an OK, if HIGHLY religious, book. The story was pretty much all about this main character obtaining powers from the Holy Spirit and battling demons. I'm not a very religious person, though I believe in God. For me, this was a bit too over the top. Don't get me wrong, I am sure this book was absolutely intended to be that way. It just wasn't what I enjoy in fiction.

Christian female heroine finds her mission in life

Hope endures thru two failed marriages and other disappointments before she finally asks God directly for help and guidance. He is overjoyed with Hope’s request, and sends the Holy Spirit to help her learn the immediate lessons she needs to grow in confidence in her beliefs, and to teach her about her gifts. Hope is given a mission that utilizes her special gifts in seeing and hearing angels and demons.
The only negative for me was the odd cover graphic that has a creepy negative supernatural look and feel. I would have expected to see something with elements of militant angels to be more in harmony with the message Ms Price was communicating about Hope’s spiritual journey and mission.
Ms Slade has an expressive voice that communicates the story well. A good fit.
I am curious to learn more of Hope’s mission going forward.

Listen.....He’s always speaking

I didn’t expect this book to change my life the way it did. I have always heard “listen twice as much as you speak”....after listening to this book i am reminded that God is always speaking to us about every detail of our lives. While He loves to listen to us, He has plenty to say. This book showed me that we must learn how to be loved, not just learn how to love. The story line was warm and you can’t help but to fall in love with the main character, Hope. I actually told a friend “i want to be Hope”. I would highly recommend this book and i would like to add that this book would make a super fantastic movie!!! Thanks to the author for the growth that i have experienced in my personal walk with my precious Heavenly Father, as i have listened to Him more and more every day and realized He truly cares about every detail of my life.
