Publisher's Summary

They told me I'd be an escort; they made it sound so easy.
Really, I'm just a high-priced call girl.
Desperation brought me to this, and it led me to him, my one and only client.
Hating him is easy; he reminds me of my shame.
Wanting him is wrong; it fills me with guilt.
Loving him is a losing battle, yet it's become everything.
A gift and a curse, he consumes my every thought, and I'd rather play my part in his bed than to spend one day without him.

Enjoyable Story

The story was good and kept me interested until the end. I loved the epilogue. Some stories leave you hanging at the end but this one had a great conclusion.

Lia Langola did a great job narrating this story. I'll be looking for more books done by her.

Jackson made me mad at the beginning! What a Jerk! I'm glad he grows out of it. Sage finds herself in a horrible situation. Not many people would be able to put up with someone like Jackson and hold their own.

This book was given to me free of charge in exchange for my unbiased and honest opinion.

I loved every minute of it

****I was given this audio book from www.audiobookblast.com free in exchange for an honest review*****

OHMYGODDDDD!!!!!!! I loved this book. It was by no means a sweet, lovely romance. It was dysfunctional, messed up, profane, upsetting and at times a little disturbing romance. But I freaking loved it, I loved every minute of it.

This book is a love story between a abusive jerk main character and an 'escort' (basically a prostitute) protagonist. Though Sage, our female MC, has a decent amount of self respect, she takes a lot of abuse because she needs to keep her job. On the flip side, they both grow a lot as people, and even at their worst, I still hoped that Jackson and Sage would grow enough as people to have a functional relationship. Actually, functional or dysfunctional, I just wanted them together.

Both of them came from horrible, abusive families, and the author does a really good job of showing the psychological effects of their various upbringings, one with abandonment issues, the other with inferiority issues. I find this juxtaposition is pretty common in this genre. This book also very loosely follows the 'Pretty Woman' plotline, but the author openly embraces the comparison, having the characters see the similarity in the story and comment more than once on it.

Some people don't like stories like these, with messed up dysfunctional characters, one a jerk alpha male, the other a protagonist trapped in a demining situation. I hope that I can warn those people away and ask them to please not read or listen this book, they'll probably hate it and might end up writing a bad review and bring down the average. They're not the intended audience, and I seriously think this book deserves a high average.

But if you're like me, and love a little steamy dysfunction with your romance, then yes GET IT!!!! This book is definitely five star read for me, maybe a six or seven star. I was given an audiobook copy at 4 yesterday, I started it after my son went to bed and I'm writing this review at 9 this morning, that's how good it was, I could not stop listening.

The narrator, Lia Langola, was also very talented. I didn't notice any recording issues and her voices for the men were as great as her voices for the women.

Great steamy audio book/ book all around!
