Displays honor all men should have!

This was the first book I've read or listened to by Catherine Anderson and I enjoyed the sense of peace she depicts through her writing. This book is based around a mother and her daughter. Kate suffered silently while married to her first husband for 5 terrible years. She had to withstand his abuse as well as witness her daughter undergo horrendous torture. After his passing Kate and her daughter are slowly learning to carry on with their lives until Ryan, her husbands brother comes and wants to claim Kate and her daughter as his. Ryan is just as nasty as his brother was, Kate is stuck. In comes the new neighbor Zachariah to the rescue. He most likely would not label himself as a hero but what he does for this little family is essentially that. This book did get a little slow at times, and even a little predictable but it was charming none the less. It is rare to find a book that is historical but not from the Elizabethan time period. This story was also very modest and did not contain very much romance or hot love scenes. I think it was a charming book to add to any "happily ever after" book collection.

- bluebelle "When I clean, drive or exercise I listen to romance. The steamier the better but it must have a great story as well!"

WOW!!!!!! Super sweet and way hot!

So I was looking around the other night trying to find a good book to download praying the narrator wasn't going to ruin it and I came across all the good reviews for this book. I was soooo NOT disappointed. It's a historical romance about a widowed woman with a little girl and a widowed man whose properties are next door to each other and the romance/story begins.
It's a great story that kept my interest and I loved the characters. I couldn't put it down!!!! Julia Gibson, the narrator, does a great job with all the characters which is such a plus. (Nothing worse than the female sounding like an airhead or a long lost relative of Mae West and the male sounding like a total dweeb) That is NOT the case here. I loved Kate and Zack and the little girl. This book ranked right up there with "Playing the Part" by Darcy Daniel which is another AWESOME audiobook. Sometimes these subtle romances become hotter than overt ones!!!
