Publisher's summary

A second chance at life.

A second chance at love.

Jared Holt never thought he deserved either - until he found both in the arms of Aly Moore. Aly has loved Jared for as long as she can remember, and she's more than ready for the future they're making together. But Jared can't help remembering his own family. And he'll never forgive himself for what happened to them. How can he allow himself the very happiness he once destroyed?

To live a life worthy of Aly, Jared knows he has to stop running and finally put his past to rest. But when he decides to face his demons head on, he encounters more than he bargained for: A dangerous mix of jealousy, lies, and dishonest intentions. When those intentions threaten Aly, Jared loses all control, giving into the rage that earned him his bad boy reputation years before. And he'll fight to protect her no matter what it costs - even if he destroys himself in the process.

Ohh the Narrators

Would you ever listen to anything by A .L. Jackson again?

YES I like the writing

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Ohh the narrator makes the story a love it or hate it story. The narrator for Jared is all wrong and we he does a female voice it was so annoying. I just couldn't get past it.

Any additional comments?

Story line was great

Sweet Ending

Great follow up to complete the story of Jared and Aly. Just enough angst combined with sweetness.

Hard to stomach

I am a huge fan of this author however I had such a hard time with this story. It was slow and dragged on for so long, The continual declaration of love was so much..,,I get it…he loved her and she loved him but good gracious I found myself frustrated and considered just giving up. They male narrator’s voice was also something I found hard to tolerate, No one wants to hear Mr Rogers talk dirty. He now has the non-coveted #1 spot on my DO NOT LISTEN list. Maybe I should have just read this book. This guy was supposed to be rough and tough, it should have been Sebastian York or even Zachary Webber. Even then I think I would have been frustrated with the wimpy characters…. But at least I would have enjoyed listening.

Horrible Narrators!

I have listened to most books by A. L. Jackson and loved all the narrators, but Tanya and Sean were the worst! Couldn’t finish the audio!

worse then the 1st

horrible narration. same nasally female narrator from the 1st book but they change the male and this male narrator is all wrong. he sound like a nasally pencil pusher not a hard, troubled, tormented man.
I was hoping that getting to see the H come to terms would be a good read but this book is worse then the 1st. the h becomes more juvenile. I dont get why she he can get jealous of a 1 night stand from before her but he should be ok with her still talking to her ex.
it takes till the end for her to push him to hard and him to try to get past his past so it is a really drawn out book.

loved the story

Sean Crisden was not so great. His female voice and even his male voice were whiny. Tanya did a better male voice than Sean did! The story was such a torturous love story and a wonderful story of guilt and redemption.

Jared is MIA

I literally cannot finish this one. Jared went from hard and rough to whiny and really pathetic. I was gagging at the way he whined. He must have hit his head hard in the motorcycle accident because he is a different person.

Oh Jared.

Reading this book brings me sorrow, pain and joy. I feel the words from my head to my toes. The story of Jared and Ally is a powerful one. Although Jared finds love with Ally, he has to learn to let go of his past. Jared’s past mistakes hold him prisoner, no matter how good his life seems his past catches up to him. Learning to face his mistakes, deal with his demons and accept himself for who he is, that’s the only way Jared can be free. With love and help from Ally, Jared learns that his past mistakes make him who he is, Jared can keep the memories in his heart, it’s ok for him to remember and mourn his loss. Absolutely beautiful but painful in the best possible way.

Male narrator choice??

I know they can't necessarily have the same narrator. The new male narrator in book two is on the whiny immature side compared to the first one. Probably bothered me more because I read one right after the other.

A Good story but a little long.

I am so happy I listened to the first story before this one. I enjoyed both of them but this one seemed a little long and dragged on in places. I usually dont leave bad reviews, I just thought it was repetitive at times. although over all I was happy to experience this.
