Publisher's summary

Clutch is book two in Tess Oliver's best-selling Custom Culture series.

When Taylor Flinn's parents shipped her off to an aunt for her last year of high school, James "Clutch" Mason had convinced himself it was for the best. Taylor, the wild, impulsive, and far too appealing 17-year-old had been driving him nuts. Her schoolgirl crush on him had been the last thing he needed. Now he had time to concentrate on his booming classic-car-part business, his newfound love of drag racing, and keeping his 20-year-old brother, Barrett, out of trouble.

But when Taylor returns from her aunt's - more grown up, utterly seductive, and attached to another guy - Clutch realizes that the only thing he ever needed or wanted was Taylor Flinn.

Clutch: Custom Culture #2 A Great Story!

Would you consider the audio edition of Clutch: Custom Culture #2 to be better than the print version?

I loved both the written and audio book. As a matter of fact, the book is awesome alone, the audible book is just as awesome as you get to listen to the story as opposed to reading it. However, what I do is listen to it while I am reading along with the narrator which is possible thanks to Amazon and Audible!

What other book might you compare Clutch: Custom Culture #2 to and why?

In my own opinion, I do not compare Tess Oliver's books to anyone else's, as I love them-all of her books. This is book 2 of the Custom Culture Series so I guess I can compare it to book 1 of this series. It is as good as the first one, Freefall, and although it is a story about a different couple, the books are similar in that both men in the two books are alpha, bad boys!

What about Dara Rosenberg’s performance did you like?

Yes, I liked her performance, she reads it fast enough that it does not drag but slow enough to be able to keep up with the story. Her voice is clear and her pronunciation is concise, in other words I do not have to ask myself, "what did she just say?"

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I love these books and there are points in all of these books that have made me feel so sad for one of the characters, and on the other hand very happy as well. I loved this book! I love the dialog between Clutch and Taylor! It is priceless when Clutch realizes after Taylor is sent away to her aunts for the last year of school, and she comes back all grown up and with a young man, that is when he realizes he needs this little girl that has grown into a woman in his life and all bets are on!

Any additional comments?

I have been reading Tess Oliver's books for quite some time now, and one thing I can be sure of whether it is a stand alone book like "That Time With Sugar", or an end of series book like "Nix & Scotlyn: The Wedding: Custom Culture #5", the last book in this series, I know it is going to be a great book filled with love, lust, happiness, or angst, sadness, and anger-whatever it is -whatever the tone of the book is-one thing is certain-it is always going to be a good read! I find myself going back to re-read many of her books when I have finished something else and I want to read something different that I know I will enjoy, that I know will be a good story with great dialog between the characters it is simple I go read one of her books for the second time!

You'll love Clutch & Taylor's story!

If you could sum up Clutch: Custom Culture #2 in three words, what would they be?

Finally! Sweet love!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love how Tess has both POV's - especially the guys! Clutch is so cute! He tries to deny his feelings for Taylor, fighting it because he thinks it's the right thing to do.

Have you listened to any of Dara Rosenberg’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, Dara was also the narrator for Freefall, the first book in the Custom Culture series. Her performance was compelling and made me want to know what would happen in the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES! It just wasn't possible since I mainly listen at work.

Any additional comments?

I love all of Tess Oliver's books. Custom Culture was my introduction to her and I love listening to them!

Decent but little far fetched for me

The h is 18 years old and acted more immature and irresponsible than my 15 year old daughter. I liked the H in the story but had a hard time believing he could see her as an adult when she is still in high school and acted even younger. Narration is only okay. With that being said I really liked the first book and the characters with the exception of the h in this book. I will continue on with the series and hope it gets back on track.

Cute, YA love story ... performance is lacking!

Clutch and Taylor are attracted to each other... but Clutch being older tries to forget her. In predictable love story genre they find themselves in love against the wishes of her family. That is the whole storyline. It is cute. It is not credit worthy. Perhaps a sale..... this 53 year old found it a tad juvenile.
