Publisher's Summary

Wed by proxy to a baron old enough to be her grandfather, Lady Anne trudges up the gangway of a galleon that will deliver her into the arms of a tyrant. Crestfallen, she believes her disastrous life cannot get worse - until she awakes to the blasts of cannon fire. Facing certain death, Anne trembles in her stateroom while swords clash and the chilling screams of battle rage on the deck above. When a rugged Highlander kicks in her door, she prays for a swift end.
But Laird Calum MacLeod has a reason for plundering the ship - and it's not a stunning English lass. With no other choice, he takes Anne to his crumbling keep on the isle of Raasay and sends a letter of ransom to her husband. In time, Anne grows to understand MacLeod's plight and finds it increasingly difficult to resist Calum's unsettling charm - until the baron sends a reply agreeing to terms.
Ripped from passion that will be forever seared into their souls, will Anne and Calum risk everything for love?

Anne, now a Baroness, was just a pawn forced into a Proxy marriage to a stranger who's much much older than herself and once on board the Galleon the Flying Swan her whole life was about to change.... in more ways than she ever expected in 1559 England. When Calum, the handsome Scottish Pirate and Laird to his Clan, seized the Flying Swan he got more than the food and plunder he was expecting when he broke down a locked door and came face to face with a beautiful knife wielding highborn English Lady.

A very entertaining listen involving loveable characters, a Hero and Heroine whose doomed attraction and mutual sexual chemistry unfortunately had to be fought every day but it got harder and harder as time went on but the price would be too great if either one gave in to their ever growing mutual desire and lust. With an evil English Baron carrying out the political atrocities on Scottish lands and their people and there's torture, twisted revenge and an inevitable bloody battle between the oppressor and the oppressed.

A word of warning.... this is pure fiction and probably not historically correct and you've got to overlook little errors in the use of word such as duvets!

Worth a credit? A most enjoyable easy-going love story until the last few nail-biting chapters when a Laird's honor was no match for evil blood-lust. However, I thought the Narrator's English accent was way too over the top Upper Class British but all his Scottish characters had brogues that were easily distinguished between each one and the Hero's voice was very sexy. So, YES an entertaining and creditworthy listen.
