Publisher's summary

The first novel in New York Times best-selling author Cynthia Eden's sizzling LOST series introduces the Last Option Search Team, an elite unit that must protect the only surviving victim of a serial killer.

Ex-SEAL and LOST founder Gabe Spencer is accustomed to the unusual in his job. But when knockout Eve Gray steps into his office, he's rattled. For the mysterious woman is a dead ringer for the heiress thought to be the latest prey of the serial killer who goes by the name Lady Killer.

When Eve awoke in an Atlanta hospital, her past was a blank slate. Then she recognized her own face in the newspaper and vowed to learn the truth. Determined to confront the nightmares hidden in her mind, she never expects to find a partner in Gabe.

As Gabe and Eve work together, their explosive attraction becomes irresistible. Gabe knows that his desire for Eve is growing too strong, bordering on a dangerous obsession, but nothing pulls him away from her. And when another Eve lookalike disappears, Gabe vows to protect Eve at all costs. While Eve may have forgotten the killer in her past, it's clear he hasn't forgotten her.

Narrator either whispers or yells. Horrible.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I wish I could have heard this book. The narrator either whispers or yells. Narrators are supposed to READ the material in an AUDIBLE way. Whispers are not audible. Narrator needs to find another job.

Any additional comments?

From what I could actually hear, this is a great story. I'll buy a printed copy that I may discern the WORDS.

Love, love love this one!

Cynthia Eden knows how to write romantic suspense! Better yet, smart and strong female characters. I get so frustrated with writers who make their main female leads dumb as bricks - doing stupid things just to advance the plot. This book has it all, creepy, scary bad guy, strong, sexy good guy and very smart, believable female lead!! I haven't even finished listening and I just gotta say - it's great!! Also, very very good narration!

Had me to the very end

I enjoyed this start to finish. Great characters, great story, enough love story and lots of mystery. Builds to a crescendo. Exciting. Couldn't put it down. Narrator can make or break a book no matter how good the story is. This one was fantastic. Her voice did not distract from the story but enhanced it greatly. I'm not only going to look for more books by this author but I'm looking for other books this narrator has read.

This is the best story I've listened too by far, well worth the credit

It has a hero, a serial killer and a damsel in distress:-)

Wonderful read..

Any additional comments?

Wow! What an amazing Prologue.

There were many suspects in this book, there was just no way to figure anything out. I absolutely love Cynthia Eden’s books. The chemistry between Gabe and Eve/Jessica was just so thrilling. Whew! And there was really great sex to be had.

The suspects were innocent sounding one minute and guilty as hell sounding the next: Trey? Pierce? Clay? Johnny? Who dunnit? What a super murder mystery.

And I loved Gage’s team: Wade, Dean, Victoria and Sarah. I think the next book is about Dean and I have every intention of reading it.

I was real sorry about Pauley. He was such a sweetheart and so nice to Eve/Jessica when she was living at the homeless shelter.

I had an idea who the killer was but I wasn’t certain. And I was right. However, I really didn’t *think* I knew until about 85% so that wasn’t figuring it out right off the bat.

I do recommend this book to all readers who like murder and romance in one book.

As to the narrator: She did a great job with the voices but she does kinda have a "bedroom" voice of her own. So, you decide if you want to listen to her.
