I Got Lost

This being the 8th installation of the Psy-Changeling series, I thought I'd gotten a handle on what "But he/she was Psy" meant. This time I was totally lost. This time, the actual drama around the love story was more interesting than the love story. They went from strangers to 60 in no time flat. They totally skipped into the realm of love and possession and the "Psy" issues they had to work around never realy connected. I actually found myself looking forward to other characters coming into play because I just couldn't get into the two of them.

Having said that, I believe they will be very useful in the next books. I'm sure their skills wil be very interesting put to use to help the others. Perhaps, we'll learn more about Max's father and get a better understanding of him.

The story really picks up pace!!

What did you like best about this story?

Even though this is supposed to be about Max and Sophie, I was more into the bigger events in the book than their romance. It was way more believable/ interesting that the Dev-Katya pairing from Book 7, with the action really getting good. Normally when I listen to series' like these, my main interest is in the love story, even though I expect a good frame story. In this book, I was WAY more into the frame story. I also appreciated that even though there is a resolution of sorts, there was not a full-force deus ex machina to make everything better in the end. I mean, stuff gets resolved and technically there is a happy ending, but not the knock-down perfect ending we got in the first part of the series.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, and if I had my way, only sleep and personal hygiene routines would have interrupted my listening. Stupid work!

Any additional comments?

I was a little worried when I was listening to book 6 that this series was going stagnant. Not so! This one pulled me right back in. This is guilty pleasure reading at its finest!!
