Publisher's Summary

Prince Christopher is as conceited as he is handsome. After his overwhelming ego offends an evil sorcerer, Christopher is robbed of the source of all his arrogance: his looks. Transformed into a hideous beast, Prince Christopher has only a limited time to fulfill a near-impossible condition or the curse will remain with him forever.
Bobby Farmer is a stunning and innocent twink. When Bobby's father is imprisoned as a trespasser at Prince Christopher's castle, Bobby offers himself in his father's place, and Prince Christopher accepts the brave young man's deal.
It isn't long before a friendship begins to blossom between the happy-go-lucky Bobby and the newly-humbled Prince. Friendship isn't enough to lift the sorcerer's shapeshifting curse, and unless Prince Christopher can win Bobby's heart, his fate will be sealed.... But as the Prince-turned-beast wonders, how can a man whose beauty is more than skin-deep ever come to love a creature such as himself?

A twist on the common fairy tale

What made the experience of listening to Bobby and the Beast the most enjoyable?

Ms. Woods did a good job narrating this story. You would think as this is a story about 2 men that they would have chosen a male narrator. Ms. Woods was able to bring all the emotion needed and her male voices were full and rich. I look forward to listening to more of her work

Any additional comments?

Bobby and the Beast is a twist on the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast. In this telling, Bobby is in the role of Beauty. When his father is kept prisoner by the Beast, Bobby agrees to take his place if the Beast will release his father. The Beast agrees. While staying at the castle, Bobby sees the true inner Beast and comes to see the good in him.

This tale is true to the original story with some twists. I enjoyed how Mr. Pace was able to do this. The story could have used a little more depth but all in all it was enjoyable. I look forward to reading more of Mr. Pace's work.

I received this book from the author, narrator or rights holder in exchange for an honest review.

The Beast

Although an intresting read. The characters didn't seem to have any depth. However it was coy and had a good romantic edge. The charactes would have been moire believable if the gender specific voices were used.
