Publisher's summary

A seduction-gone-wrong leaves vampire Parker Hollis with a new vegetarian lifestyle and on the run from a vengeful witch. Moving to small-town Maggie's Grove, Parker meets a redheaded dryad with green, leafy blood that draws him in a way he hasn't experienced in decades. His new neighbor smells divine, and it isn't long before craving gives in to need.

In a unique community of supernaturals, tree-loving outcast Amara Schwedler has never quite fit in. She's scarred by a traumatic incident and feared by the local townsfolk. She's convinced Parker will look elsewhere for a mate once he discovers she's not one of the O-positive set, and can't believe it when Parker finds her irresistible.

When the witch who's been plaguing Parker's life discovers the newfound attraction between Parker and Amara, she takes out her anger on the town. Can the supernaturals of Maggie's Grove accept Amara and band together in time to withstand the assaults of the enraged witch?

Okay

I liked her dragon series better. This story read more oh I don't know like a ya except for some sex scenes thrown in. It just seems to be lacking

He Could of Had a V-8!

It's an interesting twist on the traditional paranormal soulmate story. I enjoyed and 'liked' all the characters, even the bat guanou crazy ones. I didn't find the sex over the top or out of context. The wide variety of species calling Maggie's Grove home bodes well for an interesting future

Some good ideas but, a little too explicit for me

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Due to the over the top explicit detailed and excessive sex in this book, I'd be too embarrassed to recommend this book. A little passion in a book is great, but this actually fell into the 'gross' catagory for me.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Oh, the story itself was a great idea! A vampire with a curse where he can only eat the blood of a plant, only to discover his mate is a dryad? That's a fantastic idea! I also enjoyed the mystery surrounding Amara, why she was an outcast in a town of supernaturals, and the redemption and respects she finds.

What three words best describe Aletha George’s voice?

girly, and too sweet (at times), what I tend to think of as a typical 'harliquin romance' sort of voice.

Could you see Blood of the Maple being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Not sure about this, I've certainly see alot worse stuff being made into movie/TV.

Loved it.

I could see this in my head as clear as a movie. The narrator was perfect.

Dreadfully Boring

The story dripped along ever so slowly, and I lost interest often. This was not the book for me.

VERY hot romance

Would you try another book from Dana Marie Bell and/or Aletha George?

Probably. This was a great story and I loved the characters. If you like spicy paranormal romance, I HIGHLY recommend this one.

Which scene was your favorite?

I enjoyed all of the scenes between Parker and his ghostly roommate. I really liked all of the characters in this one. She did a great job of setting up for the next book in the series. I would like to continue with the series, but might read it instead of listen, as I can easily skip sections I am not interested in.

Any additional comments?

This book reminded slightly me of the "Sugar Maple" series by Barbara Bretton. A small town full of quirky paranormal characters. The Bretton series is a bit more my style as the sex scenes are more romantic and less graphic.
