Some have called the ending "cliffhanger," but I wouldn't say so. (I absolutely hate them, and I did not have the desire to throw my device when it ended, so…) It does end with more of the story needing to be told, but I would say it's more of a "To Be Continued," WHICH is OK with me because: 1- Part 3 is out soon and 2- Part 2 is long enough that it's worth a credit. (These are MY criteria, based on MY peeves. If you're cool with one book being broken into pieces of less than 6-8 hours and waiting ages for some resolution, bless you. I'm not down with that.)
so all in all I really enjoyed this story but beware it's a cliffy. Not a terrible cliffy but it does feel like it kind of cuts off abruptly. This book was sweet and twisty with lots of secrets and misdirection. I liked most of the characters a lot but I will definitely be listening to book 3when it comes out on audio!
It's a whirlwind of emotions. Quite probably, the best in the series.the stories, the souls -- everything combines with a well-built plot, an expanded universe and realistic, flawed portrayals of characters in order to deliver the best kind of chills. Lesley Parkin was a true delight to listen to and was very enchanting.I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher. As always this is my honest opinion

Any additional comments?

Good second installment. While the story was entertaining and overall very enjoyable it just didn't hold my attention as completely as the first book did. Not sure why. It had every one of the same elements that the first book did and it is a really good story. It's full of intrigue and suspense with plenty of action, magic and romance to keep the story moving.

I don't consider this a standalone book. You really need to read the series the order to fully understand everything that is going on

We learn more about their family line and the connection they have to the Fae. Blair and Jami should know by now you can never trust a Fae.

The ending was an interesting twist. Even though I hate cliffhangers, this one was very intriguing and seems like it could be really interesting and fun in the next book.

Lesley Parkin did a good job with the narration. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. The accent she uses fits the story and characters perfectly. Her female character voices are good of coarse but there really isn't much difference between the male and female character voices. A bit more difference between the male character voices would have made the characters a bit more interesting. It feels like you are listening to one character throughout the whole book which gets monotonous after a while.
