Publisher's summary

Claire Bradford needed a wake-up call. What she didn't need was a tragic car accident.

As a single mom and the owner of a successful bead shop, Claire leads a predictable life in Hope's Crossing, Colorado. So what if she has no time for romance? At least that's what she tells herself, especially when her best friend's sexy younger brother comes back to town as the new chief of police. But when the accident forces Claire to slow down and lean on others - especially Riley McKnight - she realizes, for the first time, that things need to change. And not just in her own life.

The accident - and the string of robberies committed by teenagers that led up to it - is a wake-up call to the people of Hope's Crossing. The sense of community and togetherness had been lost during those tough years. But with a mysterious "Angel of Hope" working to inspire the town, Riley and Claire will find themselves opening up to love and other possibilities by the end of an extraordinary summer....

Good Start - Real Adults

Blackberrry Summer is a good start to an engaging romantic series for discerning adults. No crude language, mild sexual situations, close friendships and low key family drama.

The cast of characters, both women and men, are flawed yet mostly likable. And best of all, the books in this entertaining series keep getting better.

Sweet romance

If you could sum up Blackberry Summer in three words, what would they be?

Wonderful sweet romance

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blackberry Summer?

I love series and a story that stands alone. There are no particular memorable moments but I definitely wanted to read the next in the series.

How could the performance have been better?

different narrator

Easy summer read

This was a pleasant romantic story. However, the narrator did not portray the story in its best light. Male and children’s voices were not done well, distracting and probably took a 4 star book to a 3 star. And the dog Chester-the nauseating way he was spoken to-was really unpleasant. I will do my best to avoid this narrator.

Needed more

Enjoyed the story, and the characters but felt it needed one more chapter, or an epilogy.

A lovely story

I enjoyed another book from the series. A light read with memorable characters. I think you will be pleased to learn more about the individuals that live in this quaint small town.

Good but too sweet

I wanted to yell at the heroine quite a lot and tell her to grow a spine. Half the characters in the book walk all over her, disguised as “I want to be a good person”. Being a doormat isn’t a positive message; being assertive is healthy. It’s still a good story but could have been better. Narration was good.

Blackberry Summer

I enjoyed the writing of this book but felt the narration was lacking. I hope the narrator improves in the next book in this series.
