Publisher's summary

Escaping a kidnapping duo, Bailey runs into a naked man in the middle of the woods. And he's not alone.

Rescued by a quad of hunks, then kept against her will, she doesn't know what to think or do - other than scream that is - when she discovers they are werewolves. Even more frightening, they want her as their mate despite her human status.

But there's more to Bailey than meets the eye, and she comes to the attention of an evil force that wants to use her. Can Bailey keep herself from his clutches, or will he somehow force her to betray the pack?

And just how does a girl raised with human morals come around to accepting pack law which states females can choose up to four mates, and, more shocking, take them to her bed, all at once?

2 stars because of the ending

So, FANTASTIC series so far!!! The narrator is one of the best!! Can't wait to start the third book, because I know the story will continue on. Now why 2 stars for the story... (trying not to give away any storyline) At the beginning Bailey is kidnapped and abused. She escapes, and eventually turns into a wolf, but also greedily attacks and sucks the blood out of a wolf, Jackson. This is never again acknowledged in the book. Now maybe it ties together in book 3, but leaves you wondering if she is warevamp. There are several more open ended questions, but the most glaring one is Jackson saves her by attacking the 'Master' and swan diving off a cliff. After thinking him dead, they rush off to stop at a motel to clean up and get-it-on as a foursome. Then the book ends. No going in search of her beloved mate Jackson's body. No confirming Mr. Master dead, again. Yes, I believe the story goes on and we will hear more from Jackson, and I really hope he gives them hell for giving up on him and leaving him to rot... Poor Jackson.

A million stars still wouldn’t be enough

Oh no, no, no,no. Dare I have hope? That epilogue, is it too good to be true. Please don't joke. Is the one that everyone assumes dead really alive? Well not the vile one, he can stay dead, but you know what they say, unless there’s a body. I hope so. It just seems so unjust that he did not get his chance to shine. I am reeling. Positively reeling. Ok. I’m ahead of myself. This is the second book in the Pack series, love the series, and can be read as a standalone, but you really should read the first. It was so darned good too. So this book had a lot to live up to, with the first being one of my favorites. Oh man, I think it got replaced. This book was awesome. Just awesome. There is so much heat in this book, you may need a fire extinguisher. And the twists and turns. Oh the twists and turns. Strap yourself in, it's a wild ride. I don't want there to be spoilers, so its really hard to write this review. Just buy the book, um I mean the entire series, saves time for when you want to dive into the next one, and you will want to. Eve Langlais out did herself with this one. Her books are always great, so you can't go wrong there, but this one had so much more to it. The characters are very real life, and yet still grow and develop. A million stars for this read.

Steamy

I enjoyed this story due to the character development and plot. I loved the narration that brought the story to life, even slightly different voices for each character. Off to the next book because I need to see if Jaxson comes back. BTW I loveeee Parker.

Cover Disappointment & undertone

Until now I’ve enjoyed Langlais’ books and covers. However This cover was a true slap in the face to men of color. As I listened to her description of the pack members, I would have never known there were four mates by looking at the cover. I feel as though the author wanted to add a man of color but changed her mind. If that were the case don’t be disrespectful by putting the only black man so far in the background that he blended with the skyline. You write about self doubt and body image shame and acceptance but you shame the skin complexion of the black man you chose to add. Do better by your readers whom wear and share the same skin color of the character you shamed. Clue: if you have trouble showcasing your characters in all of their many colors do us a favor and don’t! Stick to what you’re comfortable with to keep from offending your loyal readers. There will be no judgment nor offense.
