Redundently redundent

She wanted a baby. She wanted a baby really bad. It was really difficult not to have a baby. I got that. The first time she said it, I got that. How many times does she need to say that? And does anything ever happen in this book without it being repeated enough times to fill up the pages? I gave up, so I can't tell you.
