Bent on revenge, Native American shadow hunter Tombi Silver could turn to only one woman, the "witch" Annie Matthews, for help. Her ability to hear auras had allowed her to discover Tombi's friend mystically trapped by forces that could destroy them all. The accompanying message of a traitor in their midst meant Tombi could trust no one. Dare he bring Annie along on his quest to fight shadow spirits? Putting his faith in someone outside his tribe, especially one who pulled at his tightly controlled desires, could prove just as dangerous as his mission....

Has woven a dream catcher of a book with this series .
Annie Matthews comes to visit her grandmother in southern Alabama. Her grandmother is a with witch and her character alone is very well developed. All her life Annie has been out of the loop feeling she does not belong anywhere. She has the ability of hearing sounds, Sounds are relate to everyone and everything. She wants to have this GIFT be gone so she can lead a normal life, but her grandmother wil not help her. She has spend all her summer months growing up with her grandmother and loves her very much.
One night she hears a sound and follows it into the bayou. Enter Tombi a warrior and shadow hunter. She gives him the message she is given from the soul that is captured in a wil-o-wisp and there are sparks between them that light up their world Here is where Debbie Herbert weaves her magic in story telling. Annie joins in with the warriors in the fight to stop the evil. That is going to be unleashed. With out giving the whole book away I can say you will be mesmerized . There is suspense, sex and folk lore all woven into a intricate story.

Supernatural read steeped in folklore along with sweet love
This was an amazing read! It has everything I love. A bit on the supernatural side with some romance thrown in. There were some really spooky suspenseful moments. I read some and also listened to the audiobook. At one point I nearly fell out of bed at the narrator making it scary lol. I loved it. I loved the characters. During one part in the middle I got really aggravated at Tomby and his sister but in the end, it really made his personality more real. These are characters I feel at a loss for now that I finished the book. Thankfully there is another one. The narrator of the audio version was amazing!
