Now, someone has put a bounty on her head....
Venom is one of the Seven, Archangel Raphael's private guard, and he's as infuriating as he is seductive. A centuries-old vampire, his fangs dispense a poison deadlier than Holly's. But even if Venom can protect Holly from those hunting her, he might not be able to save himself-because the strange, violent power inside Holly is awakening....
No one is safe.

Venom sounds like he's got throat cancer
I've been faithfully reading and rereading every Guild Hunter book from the first to the last character and have the Audible version for each of them. Unfortunately, Justine Eyre made a very unfortunate decision about Venom's voice: The smooth, elegant character sounds like his throat is ruined, all scratchy and rough, not seductive and smooth as described in the books of the series. I'm not even complaining that he's got not even a hint of the melodic Indian speech pattern--but the voice turns me off so badly that I have limited myself to reading the book instead of the "total immersion" of reading and listening . My ire about his voice distracts me enough to impact the enjoyment of the story which is unfortunate.

Can’t get through this
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I can’t understand the high ratings. The narration is so bad I can’t get through the second chapter. I love the guild Gunter books but Justine Eyre ruins them for me. The main characters all sound like they are in pain and the voice she used for Venom was just plain ridiculous. I couldn’t even get into the story because all I thought about was how poorly it was being narrated. I’m sure I’ll eventually read the book but I wish I wouldn’t have waisted my credit on this. I never liked her narration on the other books either, but I could at least get through it. I couldn’t do it with this one. I wish Nalini Singh would pick a better narrator. The narrator makes the story. This one ruined it. I’m giving the book 3 stars even though I haven’t read it yet because I m sure it’s good. Nalini Singh is a great author and never fails to disappoint.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Never made it that far
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Made me not want to even read the book
