Publisher's Summary

Once a broken girl known as Sorrow, Holly Chang now prowls the shadowy gray underground of the city for the angels. But it's not her winged allies who make her a wanted woman - it's the unknown power coursing through her veins. Brutalized by an insane archangel, she was left with the bloodlust of a vampire, the ability to mesmerize her prey, and a poisonous bite.
Now, someone has put a bounty on her head....
Venom is one of the Seven, Archangel Raphael's private guard, and he's as infuriating as he is seductive. A centuries-old vampire, his fangs dispense a poison deadlier than Holly's. But even if Venom can protect Holly from those hunting her, he might not be able to save himself-because the strange, violent power inside Holly is awakening....
No one is safe.

Venom & Holly

Another fabulous Nalini Singh book, this is by far one of my favorite series. I am never disappointed when another is this series is released. i could listen to multiple new books from this series in a row without getting bored. i look forward to more about Elena & Raphael but i also love getting to know those close to both of them.
i do wish she would add a section that reviews each character, a glossary of sorts , even in the audible books. i do find when a 6mo or a year has gone by i sometimes confuse characters or forget many important specifics about them. That is my only complaint, for lack of a better word, of this series!!!
Definitely worth the credit or money.

Fading a Bit

The good news is that we don't have to suffer through any "drip, drip, drips," or insufferable Jeffrey vignettes. But, there remains the "not anything remotely human," descriptors when all of these characters act exactly like humans. And we still have a lot of "fisted" hands and unfortunate and awful personal histories. There is also the worn out theme of "I could snap your neck, but I really won't" because underneath all this ridiculous macho bluster I do love you, etc. The scene of Holly wrestling with the entity really got tiresome and I sped up the narration. Still, I like these two leads. The problem is that after a multitude of books and several series, fresh ideas seem hard to come by. I do give the author credit; continual world-building is not easy. Now, it would be interesting to have an exploration of one of the Legion (not the entire group--that would be weird), or Aodhan or Illium (but not together, please). And I would like it if Michaela went away. She comes across as incredibly stupid and does nothing as far as being a female role model. Maybe bring in other sleeping ancients. What is Alexander going to do now? Xi could be a lead and bring down the Archangel of Asia, who has really worn out her welcome. Despite the gripes, I'll listen to the next one.
