Publisher's summary

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Celebrate all the ways love makes us who we are with this enthralling and poignant follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Every Day—now a major motion picture.

David Levithan turns his New York Times bestseller Every Day on its head by flipping perspectives in this exploration of love and how it can change you.

Every day is the same for Rhiannon. She has accepted her life, convinced herself that she deserves her distant, temperamental boyfriend, Justin, even established guidelines by which to live: Don’t be too needy. Avoid upsetting him. Never get your hopes up.

Until the morning everything changes. Justin seems to see her, to want to be with her for the first time, and they share a perfect day—a perfect day Justin doesn’t remember the next morning. Confused, depressed, and desperate for another day as great as that one, Rhiannon starts questioning everything. Then, one day, a stranger tells her that the Justin she spent that day with, the one who made her feel like a real person . . . wasn’t Justin at all.

Critic reviews

"It’s a tricky concept, but in Levithan’s hands it works.”—EW.com

“[A] richly developed story that takes readers deep into its co-protagonists’ beings. . . . Though Levithan considers this to be the earlier novel’s ‘twin,’ it has a separate, deeply satisfying identity and can be read on its own.”—Booklist, starred review

“A story that is always alluring, oftentimes humorous and much like love itself—splendorous.”—Los Angeles Times

I wish they combined the first book with this one

I listened to this book and while it was good.. it was not as enjoyable because I already knew what was going to happen. I wish I had read the reviews before I listened. If there is a way to to tell both sides of this story in one book, in my opinion that would have worked out better for me. I did not like having to listen to the same conversations twice. I would really have liked the character insights, surprises and the plot turns MORE hearing from both sides as they lead up to the conclusion of the story.

My only advice is listen to this one if your are a stickler for the details.. other wise, it is too much repetition.

love a good sequel

Loved it....ending a sweet surprise. Can't wait to read the thirdbook. I am so glad I found the other two books. Read the first one years ago.

Not Every Day

Another Day lacked the freshness of Ever Day. Rhiannon in this book seemed whiney and trite. The details didn't match up with Every Day, even though it was the same story with two narrators.

A nice compliment

...a compliment to Every Day, though not as special as the original, certainly it fills in some holes you don’t even realize the first book has. However the original is also the more thought provoking...

This rating does not reflect my misunderstanding

I thought this book was okay. I went into it thinking that it was a continuation of Every Day, but it was actually Rhiannon's story which was disappointing. However, I did find it interesting to know her reactions to meeting a new person and some of the things that were going on in her head, but realistically I felt like the author just added some additional content in Rhiannon's POV and left the rest of the information the same as the original story. There was nothing really original about it and while I understand that things cannot be entirely different due to the nature of this story, it still seemed to fall short with content specifically related to Rhiannon. Given the change in POV I expected a little more from Rhiannon unfortunately.

Not the sequel I hoped for...

I definitely struggled to finish it because the storyline was so repetitive. I even caught some moments when they were talking and what was said was not accurate to the first book. The one redeeming factor was that you got to hear the voices of the other people A inhabited for a day.

I already bought this book

it's a narration of the other side so it's like buying the same story twice and the second story isn't told as interesting

Excellent performance, Stunning writing

I read the first of this series, Every Day, years ago. I came upon Another Day not too long ago but haven't had the chance to read it. So I decided to listen to the audiobook and wow, I was so lost in it, almost the same way as I was actually reading the first one.
Honestly, I didn't have super high expectations bc I've only listened to a couple audio books before this one but this changed my mind.
I loved every minute of it and I was so so happy with my experience.

Good

I had to get this book, despite the negative review, just because I loved every day so much!I'm going to make this short and sweet because I'm typing on my phone, and I'm not very good at reviewing anyway...
Is this as good as "Every Day?"
No.
Is it worth reading?
Yes! Only if you've read "every day."
This is essentially the same story shown through Rhiannon's eyes. This book isn't nearly as captivating as "Every Day," but it fills in some missing pieces. With this book, you get the whole story. Rhiannon and I have a love hate relationship. I hate how she jerks "A" around, but at the same time... I can understand why it's so hard to give herself to someone who is going to be someone different every day. Love is love. But attraction plays a big role in things whether we realize it or not.
The narrator did well most of the time. The only complaint I have is that sometimes she makes "A" seem like a robotic, empty, shell.
Almost as though I'm listening to Siri. This may not have bothered me or been apparent if I didn't listen to the first book.
Basically, it's a good book. If you're like me and loved every day, it's worth a read. You get to be inside the head of the person that "A" wanted to give It all up for. You get to see what happens when they're not together, and what's going through her head when they are.
Aaaaand that sums it up.
