Publisher's summary

You can’t outrun your past. If you try, it will chase after you in a silver DeLorean.

The last thing Anika Singh wants is to go home to Ohio, but when her mother is diagnosed with cancer, what choice does she really have? She’ll go home if she has to, but she won’t stay long. Because all Marcine, Ohio, has for Anika is bad memories - memories of being an outcast, even within her own family, and memories of a perfect love that was soured by betrayal.

Jenny’s betrayal. Anika’s high school sweetheart turned ex-wife. Anika hopes she won’t run into Jenny...or maybe she hopes she will run into her. It’s hard to say.

Then there’s Amy, a dark-haired beauty Anika meets on the flight to Cleveland, who happens to be in Marcine for a friend’s wedding. Nothing serious can happen with Amy; she’s only going to be in town for a week. Which means that falling for her would be stupid, especially given the fact that Jenny might be available again.

But Anika is famous for doing stupid things.

A story flavored with curry and cornbread, family drama, and a whole lot of f-bombs, Anika Takes the Long Way Home up Soul Mountain will have you laughing, crying, and grimacing as Anika gets chased around by a silver DeLorean and attempts to answer the age-old question: Can you ever really go home again?

Part of the Rosemont Duology: This is the second book in the Rosemont Duology, following up from To Have Loved & Lost. However, Anika Takes the Long Way Home up Soul Mountain can also be enjoyed as a standalone novel. This lesbian romance is rated R for:

  • A lot of really bad language
  • Sexual content
  • Adult situations

Take a walk into the rain

Inspiration of a chorus of great story and song of sometimes the root of the problem might be the savior of the heart. A. Rysk voice brings out feelings in the characters to instill themselves a part of their family.

Just discovered Eliza Andrews

This is a sequel to “To Have Loved and Lost”, which is the first Eliza Andrews novel I read. This author has a different style than the typical status quo, and I enjoy getting drug into the lives of her characters. She doesn’t stray too far off the beaten path, but enough to be unique. Lots of emotions, plenty of depth, and don’t fret, there’s enough sex to satisfy here.

Simply simple and well written

What a talented Author. Both of the books in this duology were brilliantly crafted and the Authors afterthoughts were insightful and very well thought out.

very good, but not my favorite by Eliza Andrews

I enjoyed this book even though it was a little depressing at times but I kept thinking how I liked the prequel to this better. If you haven't already read "to have loved and lost", please do. I liked the characters more in the first book. dont get me wrong, this is a very good book. if you loved the first book, you'll be happy with this one

Absolutely beautiful writing

I listened to the first part of the first chapter three times and then went and played it for my wife. Eliza Andrews creates stories that are poetry in motion. I have loved each of her books, but this one by far is my favorite. The main characters are flawed and wonderful, each of their actions felt true and their ends felt earned, not granted. Beautiful work!

Just as awesome as the first book!

Wow, I really love this author! So refreshing and down to earth in her writing. There's a quirky Back to the Future spin, too, which is a very endearing way to reflect on a character's past and provide some great reflection and assessment. Also, quite frankly, this is more of the soft butch character that I relate to and have been craving in a novel. Now on a mission to find more books by this author.

Lovely

Great story I love Anika even when I was mad at her. The narrator takes long pauses but her voice is nice enough that I don’t mind it.
