Publisher's summary

I've been many things.

I've been a son and a stepbrother. An army captain and a vice president.

But only with him am I a prince. His little prince.

Only with Maxen and Greer does my world make sense, only between them can I find peace from the demons that haunt me. But men like me aren't made to be happy. We don't deserve it. And I should have known a love as sharp as ours could cut both ways.

My name is Embry Moore, and I serve at the pleasure of the president of the United States...for now.

This is the story of an American prince.

Contains mature themes.

This book just didn't work for me. The style and the way it jumps around skipping over so many details was a big issue for me. I really wanted to love this series but sadly I do not. The story line was intriguing but maybe I had way to high of expectations. I spent a lot of time pausing and walking away in frustration while listening. I think my biggest issue is all the things that didn't even matter to the story and should have. The political part of this book was non-existence, scenes that were a very big deal were brushed off and the sex some times felt like it was thrown into random spots just because. I am finishing the series in hopes that the author brings this all together but I'm just not sure it was for me.

The narration was not great either which didn't help. Guy Locke isn't one of my favorite narrators and I don't understand why the inner monologue for the men is in a different voice than when they speak. Do they hear themselves different in their heads then when they speak out load? I never speed up narration but about 1/2 way thorough I finally sped this one up and I'll admit it helped a lot for me. Stephanie Rose was good.

Awesome series. Male Narrator Not So Much

Would you listen to American Prince again? Why?

Listen again, No because of the Male Narrator

Who was your favorite character and why?

Greer.. strong female

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Anothe Male Narrator sounding like Bullwinkle.. Really... who comes up with these Narrators? He was supposed to be strong, handsome, sexy, but the Male narrator ruined it. The female narrator was amazing.. She's perfect.

Any additional comments?

When is book 3 coming out?? And PLEASE do not us the same male narrator..

Loved the book, but not a fan of the male narrator

This was an awesome follow up to American Queen, but I had a hard time with the male narrator. I love Stephanie Rose's performance in both books and was really excited to finally hear Embry. Sadly, Guy Locke's voice just didn't match up with the character. It wasn't terrible, but I definitely preferred Stephanie's chapters more.

Lots of secrets are revealed this time around and getting Embry's point of view was incredible. We know certain events occur in the timeline, but having this other side to the story was both painful and enlightening. Since this is book 2 in the series, it does end in a cliffhanger (though it's not as bad as the one in book 1). I can't wait for the release of American King and I hope they will find a new male narrator for the audiobook!

This is such a compelling story

You’ve read/ listened to American Queen already? Yes? Good! So, you know how AQ ended, that cliffhanger was a jaw-dropping one, right? I was so pleased I had American Prince already queued up and ready to go. Of course, life meant I had to wait a day or two, which was tough because I had so many thoughts about AQ running around my head. Once I was able to dive in I was just a crazy person, I shouted at my audible app more than once.
There were several moments between Ash and Embry that melted my heart, I’m talking, I wanted to cry because they were so incredibly sweet. For all Ash’s bravado and soldier/ President-ness, he really was a sweet man who knew the right thing to say to make a girl… and man swoon. This book contained some difficult moments for Greer and I have to say I thought they were handled beautifully and I understood her mindset.
Abilene continues to show herself as a horrible person, even more so in this book. She’s a character you’ll love to hate. I didn’t particularly like Morgan, but she did grow on me. Merlin still makes me so mad, I just want to punch him and tell him to mind his own business. I enjoyed how this book is told from the POV of both Greer and Embry, you get more of an understanding of what Embry’s thought processes are and why he does the things he does. Which was frustrating in book 1 but now make sense. With the added benefit of seeing his relationship with Ash.
I really liked the timeline shifts, from then and now. It gives a good understanding of the characters, what they’ve been through and why they do the things they do. The BDSM scenes are done incredibly well, giving you the thought process along with the action, it will make some other books look like amateurs and give you a good sense of what a relationship that involves it would be like. The sex scenes continue to be smoking hot, the scenes between Ash and Embry, oh my word! It will have you hot under the collar for sure, but also, swooning, in its beauty.
The ending will have you sat in awe, wondering what you can possibly do now. Although American King is available, it is not yet out on audio. I’ve actually caved in, the wait was too much, ok, so I only managed to go 12 hours, but I pulled up the kindle app and I am now reading… with my eyes *gasp* because I wasn’t ready to leave these characters behind, they will have this effect on you that just make it so hard not to sit and think about them. Wondering where the story can go, why Sierra is putting them through this and how much more they can take.
The narration was wonderful. Stephanie Rose continues to perform these characters and situations brilliantly, I really love how she chooses to voice them. Guy Locke is new to me and I really enjoyed his performance, especially of Embry. The production had no issues.

Side-note: If you don’t believe a heart is big enough to love more than one person and don’t believe the message of love is love, this is not the book for you. Some scenes may be difficult to read, if you have any set triggers please give me a shout and I’ll help you with details. Know that each scene has a purpose.

Male narrator nearly ruined the whole thing

Why oh why do they ruin great books with narrators that don’t fit the characters or who can’t do good character work. I am sooooooo bummed that book three will have the same male narrator. I may have to skip it.

Twist and Turns

Wow! The twists and turns are shocking! Unexpected!

Greer, Ash, Embry. Their love is actually quite beautiful. Their sex is sizzling!

Nothing is as you expect. Sacrifices, lies, kidnapping, murder, blackmail, hurt. It's all their mixed with a selfless, unusual, unlikely, amazing love story.

I did an audible re-read of American Prince in preparation for American King. It was delicious! 🤗🔥. But there were a couple things I had forgotten and hearing them in audio made them all the more shocking!! I cannot wait for American King!!

The female narrator is very good but I struggled for much of the book with the male narrator. He sounded nasally, like he had a cold and pronounced words poorly (Digoxin, didn't and couldn't and wouldn't sounded like dident/couldent/wouldn't) and that was just not our Embry with his Ivy League education.

OMG I Loved It

This was book 2 in the "American Queen" series. Embry Moore has been in love with Maxen Colchester for 14 years. In book one we got to read about Greer's history and a little of the history between Ash and Embry in this book how they met in the Army and how they became lovers and how Merlin was the one who convinced him not to marry Ash. This book had a lot of secret's in it. The book begins where the first one left off with Greer being kidnapped by a mad man and how Embry went to rescue her. We also learn that her cousin Abilene is so jealous of Greer that she would help a mad man kidnap her and she would do anything to get back at her. This book was painful for me to read at times I physically had to put my kindle down to keep from throwing it. I hate Abilene and Morgan for what this is doing to these three and I believe that Embry is right I think that Ash was being weak or maybe the author is saving it for the next book I hope. The sex scenes in this book were hot and Ash was as dominant as ever. I did feel bad for the "Little Prince" he put is own happiness on hold to protect those that he loves all because of a crazy B*tch couldn't get what she wanted and to think Greer as thought all her life that she wished she was pretty like Abilene. In this book we also learn that Morgan and Ash have a little secret of their own. This was a really good book a really good series it makes me wonder what is going on behind the W.H. doors. This book was well written like the first book with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.October 31st can't come fast enough.

“The little prince in the book is so wise but so sad. Has so much to offer this world and yet he can’t stop pining for the one he loves.”
Colchester looked right into my eyes and I could not look away.”

“Embry holds my husband’s heart in his hands and he doesn’t even know it. He’s too busy looking at the details of Ash’s faces to see the expression, too busy being in love to see how loved he is.”

I have to become more than a prince. I have to become a king Myself

Hate male narrator's voice!

Embry deserved better. That cyborg did nothing to convey Embry's passion. A waste. I can't believe Sierra chose this cyborg--Embry oozes sex, this Locque guy was constipated through out the whole recording. I'm truly disappointed
