*Loyalty… Honor… Dignity…*
Just a few short months after the shifter emergence tensions are already running high. Asked to join Alpha Squad to promote cooperation between shifters and human authorities, Eric King is not convinced of its relevance. Despite suspicion that the Secretary for Shifter Affairs is simply using the Squad as a way to boost his image, Eric's loyalty to the cause will not allow him to say no… But when Janine Williams catches his eye, Eric realizes he has much more pressing issues. How is he supposed to concentrate on his training if his inner bear is insisting he take his squad leader as is his mate?
Given command of Alpha Squad, Major Janine Williams is far from pleased with her orders. Despite knowing that the initiative is just a gimmick, meant to pacify the shifter community, Janine is determined to do her job. Well. But after delving deeper into the strengths of her team, Janine discovers a wild untapped potential lurking beneath the surface. They could find success. As long as everyone works together. As long as she can manage to keep her relationship with Eric, the tough East London bear shifter, strictly professional...

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.
Fun shifter tale but there wasn't any developing of the players. I never felt I knew either one, although, if I had to choose, I think Eric was developed deeper. Odd being a female narrator. The story was interesting and was low-heat.
The narrator did a believable female portrayal but delivered a pretty bad male interpretation.
One Thumb Up. Not raising it high, though.
