Publisher's summary

First friends, then enemies...

Lady Aurelia hasn't always hated Max, Viscount Camden, her brother's best friend. In fact as a besotted girl, she thrived under his kind attention, sure that he was the most noble and handsome man in the land. Until her young heart discovered what manner of rogue he really was. Now, though she enjoys nothing more than getting on his last nerve, she can't deny Max drives her to distraction - even if she tries to pretend otherwise.

Now something more...

Max cannot recall a time when Aurelia did not vex him. If she was not his friend's sister, he would stay far away from the infuriating vixen. Unfortunately they are always thrown together. At parties and family gatherings - she is always there. Mocking him, tossing punch in his face, driving him mad - until one night she goes too far, and he retaliates in the only way he can: with a kiss that changes everything.

Fabulous!

Sophie Jordan has seriously raised my expectations in the realm of what a good historical romance should be. Her talent makes many others pale in comparison. With her extrordinary way of crafting a story full of vibrant characters and real emotion she manages to raise the bar in what I look for when shopping my favorite genre at Audible,

NARRATOR: Carmen Rose enhances the story with her perfectly delivered performance. I cannot think of a single thing she could have done better!

CREDITWORTHLY? Absolutely .

HEAT FACTOR : steamy with a tendency to boil over.

Not as good as I expected it to be.

I got this book after reading some other reviews. Because of those I expected this to be a great story. Well, it didn't touch me like it seemed to do some others. The story was slow moving and seemed to be searching for the "real" story to begin. I don't know if it was the performance or the writing, but it never grabbed ahold of me and never made me care for any of the main characters. I have other books by Sophie Jordan and this one left me feeling let down. There was no real feeling, ( or I just never felt it), between these two to make me care how they got to their HEA. I was not over joyed when they finally came together because, first...he never really wanted to be married or in love with her, and second...their love/hate friendship never seemed to have a real chance to gel to make them truly feel like a couple who was in love with each other. Like I said, this is my opinion, but I just felt like the story was thrown together to bring to press. I say find a better use of your credit unless you are a die hard fan of Ms. Jordan.

Perfection

Would you listen to All the Ways to Ruin a Rogue again? Why?

I was half way through this novel and could not wait for the end so that I could start it again. I have listened to it twice in the past 4 days. It is a great book with characters I just loved.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The heroine was my favorite. She was smart, strong and brave. She did not become " witless" after falling for the hero, like so many romance heroines. Part way through the novel, she decided that she had to make changes to herself, which took a lot to acknowledge. Then she took charge of herself and made the changes neccessary...a great example of courage. This character was a refreshing change from most romance females.

Which character – as performed by Carmen Rose – was your favorite?

I really like Carmen Rose. She is fast becoming a favourite. I think she does a great job with all the characters, but possiblly the scottish accent for MacKenzie is her best, as it's a difficult one to execute.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was just so happy to find a novel that I really loved. I have had a string of novels that just fell a little short of my expectations. This book had so much:
Strong & interesting main characters
Good secondary characters
A romance that started when the h/h were young, then went off the tracks, but came back together
A slight " ugly duckling" into swan
h/h that actually have a lot of dialogue and communicated their feelings to each other
I could not put it down .

Any additional comments?

This is my new favourite book. It's been a long time since I found a novel this good. The length was also very good, as it did not go on for a long time with lots of filler and internal monologues. The dialogue was great and funny. It had everything I look for in a romance. I can only hope that Sophie Jordan keeps them coming. It was wonderful!

Best Sophie Jordan Novel Yet

So this is my favorite book in the series so far. I absolutely love the story. I liked the fact that the characters have a back story which we begin getting hints from in the other beginning books, thus allowing the reader to get tibits from an early stage, and then once their story is told, it makes for a very satisfying ending. Aurelia and Max have awesome chemistry and yet complex emotions for one another. Once he gets his head out of his ass and she gets past her hurt, they begin to see how well they get along and how right they are for each other. If u liked " One Night with You" you will love this one.

Boy...these two...***rolling my eyes***

These two annoyed the hell outta me. I'm not even going to gripe, because the series had to come to an end but damn Sophie, couldn't this have been a 5 1/2 hour book and not an 8 hour one? I mean, come on...almost 7 hours of arguing like children...how did their family stand it? I would've told them to go tup it out and don't be in the same room together until they did, but thats just me.

*Brief Spoiler*

The scene that pissed me off the most was when Max and the widow ganged up on Aurelia and the best she could come up with was the childhood nickname he inadvertently earned with her assistance. I mean, come on Sophie - Aurelia deserved to confront that tramp better than that, argue with Max better than that, and still push them into the pond. Period.
_______________
Overall, it was an ok end to the series (I read Will's story on Kindle to prep for this one and we do need to know id Dec and Rosalie had a baby; to me, they were the best of the 3 couples).

I did like to see my boy Struan - there was no mention of his brother the Duke, which I found strange, but ah well. The epilogue alluded enough. I wish there was a map that showed where a character started in a series to where their book gets in, but I digress.

If you're like me and just have to know how a series ends, then you'll read this anyway. If you intend to read this without having read the first, don't bother - you have to read all 3 for it to be satisfying.

Only save for this book was the narrator

Weak story line. Very predictable. Carmen Rose did a good job trying to save the book. I almost gave up.

I love these kinds of enemies to lovers relationships

These two have so much chemistry! I only wish the author would have been a little less abrasive with the male characters treatment of the female. I think the story has a lot of potential to be amazing if a few little things were changed and there was more of an epilogue. The writer is very good and the narrator makes the characters come to life! I think this will always be one of my favorite HR’s. I hope the author comes back to this series in the future!

I tried...

If you like stories where the heroine and the hero hate each other and do whatever they can to hurt each other past the point of cruelty, this is the book for you. While I do enjoy some angst in the books I read, this story goes well beyond that. I actually found myself rooting AGAINST the couple.

One scene has the main characters near a pond. Because of this scene, there was no going back from my dislike of the hero in the story. Both characters are immature and bratty but the way he behaves by the pond, puts his character beyond any sort of redemption.
