Publisher's Summary

Captain Corbin Jones heads his own Paranormal Security and Intelligence Agency Special Ops team. He's used to being in command. Used to having to make the tough calls. As a lionshifter, he's no stranger to fighting his primal instincts. He's had them well in hand for most of his immortally long life - that is, until he catches a scent that sets his body on fire.
The scent of his mate.
Mae wasn't looking for love and certainly didn't want to go on a blind date. When she's stood up and grabbed instead by madmen who want to use her to breed other supernaturals, she's not sure who to trust. Not even when the very same man she's been fantasizing about is deposited next to her. Fate - and her own supernatural hormones - won't be denied, and she finds she can't control the desire burning through her. The only problem is, her fantasy man, the very man who came to rescue her, is now a prisoner too.

Becoming redundant

I gave this book a 3 star because I am getting a little bored with the redundant find mate, get pregnant. I wish we had a little different story and not everyone gets pregnant like right away. I still do enjoy the characters and hope Stricker finds a sweet girl, not a slut like him. Narrator did a good job.

Act Of Command

Corbin had the pressures of leadership--oh, yeah, and his mother who wanted grandchildren. Anxious to get him mated to accomplish her wish she set him up for a blind date. Just great. He didn't want to go and wished for an assignment--when the call for one came, he'd been distracted by the scent and sight of a beautiful woman.

Fast forward. The team wanted to rescue some supernaturals on the block for sale to unscrupulous people. When Corbin finds out one of them is the woman he'd stood up, he is devastated. Even more so when it seems she is more to him. Not willing to admit what.

Will they be on time to save the captives?

I read the book quite a while ago. Listening brought back fun memories and the excitement of the mission and mate-finding journey. To see such a controlled man lose it was well done. The comic relief, Striker and his mother, was funny all over again. You will love the eyebrow artist.

Well done. A four to the narration as the Brittish accent slipped a few times. Did not distract from the book or story at all though.
Another Ops book. Another great read/listen.

Control

So is it Strikers turn or Corbin's turn to find their mate.
The answer is Corbin, he is set up on a blind date by his mother who tries this at least every decade her son should be mated.
Mae is a family friend of Corbin's mother her mother sets her up on a blind date with Corbin.
Due to unfortunate circumstances Corbin doesn't make the blind date as he is called away but he has scented the most delicious sent and saw the most gorgeous girl in a yellow dress.
After returning from his mission things take a turn that sees him losing his control over a photo. Could it be his mate.
Mae never returns home from her blind date again she forgot her phone. But as luck may have it the most gorgeous man is bought into the same room she is being held in.
That's all I'm saying.
Would I recommend this book YES
