Publisher's summary

Deidre Kenney made a deathbed promise to her father after he was shot by two gunmen looking for the land deeds he was hired to deliver: to finish the dangerous job. She and her cousin Maura each take a different route west. But what Deidre didn't count on was a bodyguard - and that's what she gets in Patrick Callahan. With his broad shoulders, steady gun, and a crooked grin that's stirring secret desires - and a Christmas wish - Deidre knows the real danger ahead lies in the uncharted territory of her own heart....

Maura Kenney hopes her cousin is having better luck. The tiny blue-eyed spitfire is too busy fending off drunken oafs and serious gunmen to have a lot of faith in her own success. But then she meets Mitch Callahan. He takes one look at her and knows Christmas has come early. But convincing a prim-and-proper miss that a tough, tender-hearted rancher is the only man for her promises to be about as hard as keeping them both alive to share a Christmas together....

A Stockingful of Joy

The wild west got wilder in this book. This was about female cousins who vowed to finish the journey that one's father and partner started and were killed for. Each girl went west by a different route. Two brothers in search of the men they hired to bring them the paperwork proving the land was theirs. And how fate crossed each set of men to women in the harrowing journey. And the many attempts at ambushes by those not wanting them to succeed. I liked the story line but the narrator ruined it by stating the title at each chapter. It detracted the flow of the story to me.

incomplete audio

loved the book but this audio stops at chapter 8 of the first story and skips chapters 9 thru 12. then goes directly into the next story.

Good story but...

I enjoyed the story very much even the narrator did a good job but the most irritating part of this book was the mention of the title with each chapter. It totally took away complete enjoyment.
