I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. This was a nice, sweet short love story about two people who make arrangements to meet but don't realize who they are meeting. They each have an impression of what each other should look like. They start up a friendship not realizing that they were suppose to meet. The companion is hilarious and leaves them alone to get acquainted. The narrator Virginia Ferguson does an excellent job with the voices. I would recommend this to everyone who loves regency romances. It made my plane ride go by faster. Very enjoyable.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, because it was a quick and entertaining read.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved that Timothy and Cordelia were spending time together each waiting to meet the other and not realizing it.
Which character – as performed by Virginia Ferguson – was your favorite?
She performed both Cordelia and Timothy well, but I would go with Cordelia because women perform women voices better.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
My favorite part was when they each realized they felt "strange" around each, not realizing yet what they were feeling just before the truth of their identities came out.
Two people meet, neither realising that the other is the person they had been looking for in Weymouth.
This is a sweet short story of a young woman sent away by her family to be treated by a doctor for her high spirits! Although it is a little unlikely that neither would realise who the other was, this is an enjoyable way to pass a couple of hours.
The narrator has the right accent to invoke the spirit of Regency England.
