Life changes in the span of a heartbeat—one tiny heartbeat....

Blake

Layla taught me what it meant to truly love another person. I’d do anything for her.

But nothing prepared me for the lengths I’d go to for my baby. Which is why I’m going to go home and deal with my family issues once and for all. I can’t move forward without resolving my past.

Running from the fight is not an option. Especially when I’m so close to having everything I never knew I wanted in my life....

Layla

At this stage in my pregnancy, the only thing I should be doing is preparing for the arrival of our baby.

Too bad someone from my past—someone who was there 18 years ago when the course of my life was irrevocably altered—won’t let me relax.

So, while Blake is confronting his issues, I’ll do the same. And when we’re done, maybe we can finally settle into the happily ever after we both so richly deserve....

A Father’s Fight, book five in the Fighting series, is an emotional, angsty, contemporary, steamy sports/MMA romance novella with a guaranteed HEA (or rather, a continued HEA). Download today to revisit Blake and Layla.

Love this series!!

This is the a follow up installment with Blake and "Mouse" as they lead their blissful married life and are expecting their first child together. Of course her past once again comes back to haunt her tranquil existence. Blake is called home to deal with some issues from his past home life ..... and the story unfolds. Definitely worth the credit I used and cannot wait for the next book!! I recommend reading the books in order although they are stand alone!

The series just keeps getting better

Okay, the series is getting better, but this book was way to short. I wish there was more on Tripp.

YES, IT'S SHORT.... BUT IT'S A MUST TOO

If anyone can make me use a credit for a listen that's under 6 hours then it's JB Salsbury because I have no doubt whatsoever that I'm going to love it..... and yup, I was right. Although Layla and Blake's love story has already been told in book 2 of this series, about Alpha MMA Fighters, they all hook you in so much that you relish each listen because you want to know more about these characters that you've rooted for and cared about so you soak up any news as to how they're all doing after the happy ever afters..... well this is one such story and it didn't disappoint.

Layla and Blake have been hiding some disturbing news from one another in order to protect the other person but Layla's concern for her Fiancé uncovers what has kept Blake awake for the last few nights. That news, coupled with her incoming anonymous and repetitive phone calls, that have gone unanswered, makes her take a deep breath ready to answer the next one and, as they're coming in constantly, she doesn't have to wait long. Someone's been digging into her and her daughter's lives and the male voice from the past on the other end of the phone conjures up visions of that fateful blurred College night when her virginity was robbed from her and she was left pregnant. Layla freaks out at the voice and tries for denial..... but he's very very persistent.

Blake has other worries too, his Brother's in town begging him to go see his parents and, even though he's had an awful upbringing, he reluctantly leaves the 'expected to deliver anytime now' Layla to hear what? he just doesn't really want to know because it's bound to be bullshit.... how wrong he is. It's a gut-wrenching shock quickly followed by anger, panic and fear. And while the cat's away his Mouse does play.... which leads to a long overdue confrontation and several revelations.... all unexpected.

Wow JBS really packed a lot of emotional baggage, drama and intrigue into this listen that had Father's asking for forgiveness and Fathers going to any lengths to protect the ones they love. There's also a lot of love too as Blake and Layla's relationship is as solid as ever and their sex drives are in the 'steamy' zone. Then the precious bundle of joy Blake's carefully holding suddenly puts his whole life into perspective and his anger and animosity fade to black leaving a suddenly brighter HEA.

Worth a credit? Dual POV's, great narration, excellent short story, glimpses of well loved characters and a message about forgivenesses and 'the other man's shoes'. This isn't a stand alone listen but a follow-on story from the whole series (but especially from book 2). Thank you JBP..... short, sweet and very creditworthy.

Short and sweet

Short story adding on to Blake and Layla. Fun to hear what happens next for them.

Great addition to series!

I think this is maybe my favorite book in this series so far. Layla and Blake are having a baby and are engaged, but problems start to come at them from their pasts. The way they get through them is a great story and the ending is very happy. Narration was well done as well.

A Father's Fight

I have read these books numerous times, but listening to them is a completely different world. The narrators bring so much life to the characters and a level of excitement that just heighten the experience. These story is about Blake and Layla, but mostly Blake's journey to fatherhood and accepting his past. It's such a beautiful story about coming full circle in life and getting peace. I just loved it!

great addition to the series

really enjoyed the last book about Blake and Layla (Fighting to forgive) and appreciated the insight into Layla's past & the closure it gave Layla(as well as me!) I was thrilled with what she learned. one thing that I find super annoying about Blake is how he calls her his woman all the time, and what kind of nickname is Mouse?! You better believe my husband wouldn't call me either one, what goes on in the octagon would seem tame in comparison! Lol
