Publisher's Summary

Sequel to The Lightning-Struck Heart
Once upon a time, the wizard’s apprentice, Sam of Wilds, got his happily ever after in the arms of his cornerstone, Knight Commander Ryan Foxheart. A year has passed, and while Sam’s been captured five or six more times since then, things are pretty great. His parents are happy, Gary and Tiggy still eat sass for breakfast, Randall is somehow alive despite being older than the gods, the King rules with a gentle hand, Kevin the dragon is as gross as ever, Morgan sighs a lot, Ryan continues to be dashing and immaculate, and Sam is close to convincing Prince Justin they will be best friends forever. Life is good.
Until it’s not.
Because Vadoma, the leader of the gypsy clan and Sam’s grandmother, has come to the City of Lockes with a dire prophecy written in the stars: a man of shadows is rising and will consume the world unless Sam faces his destiny and gathers the five dragons of Verania at his side.
And she brings along her second-in-command, a man named Ruv. Ruv, who Vadoma says is Sam’s true cornerstone.

Fantastic book with awesome narration

TJ Klune is a consistently good author who with this series deliver a witty and funny light fantasy that is unapologetically gay. The production and narration of the first two audiobooks is fantastic, and adds significantly to the story. As a gay man who has been a lifelong fan of comedic high fantasy, this series is pretty much a dream come true for me.

I would say a page Turner but it's an audio book

The narrator truly fleshed out this story. The voices portrayed for the different characters are truly stupendous. The individual character's personalities shine through with the tone and pitch in each voice used. The story carries on with the humour and charm of the first book. It genuinely made me Laugh out loud on more than several occasions. Brilliant. Loved it. Cannot wait for the next one.

Best Book Ever!.. Yes, it's Capitalised, so it must be true!

Yes... It's capitalised, so it must be true!
Loved this book so much that I've now either listened to or read almost all (only a couple more to go) of TJ Klunes books. I've just finished Tales from Verania, Book 4 and it was just as gripping and funny as the other three.
I've finally got my other half to give Klune a go, and while writing this review, he is sniggering and guffawing to The Lightning-Struck Heart (the first book in this series).
All I can say is, if you want to laugh your socks off with a heavy dose of smut in a fantasy world which includes a witty, hormone driven wizards apprentice, a hornless gay unicorn, a half-giant with a huge heart and a heroic knight (and oh so much more), then you won't be disappointed.

Though the ending felt like like someone about to orgasm as your mother walks in the room...I mean wtf. I need closure :)

Also god this narrator is talented. He certainly makes Gary the star he is lol
