Publisher's summary

Scottish beauty Roslynn Chadwick needs the safety of marriage to protect her from an unscrupulous cousin and the fortune-hunting scoundrels who covet her wealth. And Anthony Malory is precisely the sort of handsome rogue she's been warned against.

A cunning, ruthless, yet irresistible rake, Anthony's sensual blue eyes speak of pleasures beyond her imagining - and Roslynn, believing his passionate promises will surely lead to disaster, dearly wishes she dared to surrender to such a man. But denying her heart may cost the exquisite Highlands lady an unparalleled love hotter than flame and more precious than the rarest jewel.

The saga continues: listen to more romatic tales of the Malory family.

Timeless classic

My mother introduced Johanna Lindsey to me in 1989. Tender Rebel was my first romance novel. I've been hooked since. Listening to this classic made it seem new but still enjoyable. The Irish accents were ok as well.

Tender Rebel (Unabridged)

Very entertaining. I listened to this while traveling alone on a long trip. I was so into the story; I didn't mind the empty passenger seat! J.L. is an all time favorite of mine. Thank you Johanna Lindsey for coming along on a cross country trip that would have otherwise been very dreary!

Another Malory!

Great story. If you are a Johanna Lindsey fan and fan of the Mallory’s, listening to this story is a must. I have rediscovered these stories and am enjoying listening. The reader is fantastic!

I'm addicted to Johanna Lindsey

I am now addicted to Johanna Lindsey's books. I'm sorry it took me so long to discover this series.

This was delightful. Lindsey's books are quite humorous (I sure hope that was her intention) and the characters are colorful and interesting. This book is no exception. I truly enjoyed this.

The one negative I can point to is that the narrator's Scottish accent sounds like an Irish brogue and was a bit distracting. But I've already downloaded Book 3 in this series.

Enjoyable

I have just finished listening to this novel and am now waiting for the 'Gentle Rogue' to download.
At first look, I was uncertain if I would enjoy this series, so I started with this second book 'Tender Rebel' as the synopsis appealed to me the most.
At one point Roslynn began to annoy me, simply because she believed the worse in Anthony with very little evidence to feed her distrust. Personally, I found this frustrating and a little unbelievable that she could be that dim-witted. It distracted me for a while but I've listened to far worse plots with far more annoying female protagonists so I got over it in the end and continued enjoying the story. Apart from this, it was any easy listen and held my interest with everything you look for in a fun, delightful romance story.
I must say, it was very clever of the author to introduce the next novel's plot during this story. I think I may now be hooked on the Malory series.

love this series

I love this series. I re read it at least once a year. I love the family interactions. all of it. yes there are a few snags in the romance of the story but the family learning them and getting to love them is the best part of all the books in the series.

now the reason for 4 stars is the narrator. I just dont like her voice. she sounds more like she should be reading children's books nit a romance. also her pronunciation of Regan is not correct. in this book its Regan in the next same narrator pronounces it Reegen.. I dislike this and other words as well seem off to my ear. I will still listen as I am a truck driver and don't have time to stick my nose in a book anymore but its just not right. her whole proformace seems wrong.

Rogues Do Make Best Husbands

Roslynn’s grandfather said that rakes make the best husbands. Anthony Malory is the sort of rogue that Roslynn was warned against, but her grandfather was talking about. Roslynn needed a husband before Jordy forced her to marry him for the inheritance that her grandfather left her. Anthony didn’t need the inheritance but he wanted Roslynn, so he maneuvered to married her. She tried to keep him at arms length as Anthony as a known rogue, but their chemistry and desire won out in the end.

Anthony Malory is leading man material! He was able to seduce his will upon his willing victims. Roslynn is a strong heroine who tried to stop herself from falling in love with Anthony as she was convinced that her grandfather was wrong that rogues made good husbands. Tender Rebel has a good plot and the romance was fantastic!

Great story

The Malory Novels are wonderful. I only wish that Audible would get all of the Malory Novels.
