Publisher's summary

Dorothy Kelley is a born romantic, searching for her prince. Instead she finds herself pregnant at fifteen and in a loveless marriage by the tender age of eighteen. Then hope comes riding into her life on a motorcycle and within weeks, Jason "Jase" Brady, a member of the Hell's Horsemen motorcycle club, sweeps Dorothy off her feet. But nothing is ever simple for Dorothy. Jase is married with children. And as Dorothy patiently waits for Jase to give her the happily-ever-after she's been dreaming about, James "Hawk" Young, a member of the Hell's Horsemen with secrets of his own, sees an opening into Dorothy's life and takes it. What follows is a long and painful journey of self-discovery and forgiveness, as Dorothy comes to realize that home was exactly where she'd left it and the love she'd forever craved had always been within her reach.

THERE'S PAIN, TEARS, REGRETS & AN ENDURING LOVE

I have loved all of the previous Hell's Horsemen MC books, the characters, the romance, the quick wit, the humor and the sex but this is a TOTALLY different kind of story... it's one of regrets and the emotional pain that the love triangle caused in the lives of Jase and his family, Dorothy and her son and Hawk. You're either going to love the story or be disappointed by it.... but whichever it is it's a moving account of lives lived, missed opportunities and a long awaited HEA ending.

If you've followed the previous books then this starts 7 years after Dorothy was shot and, now they're in their 40's, we get emotional flashbacks over the years and the coming to terms with the effects that the poor choices that each of them made during that time has had on each of their lives. There's also a secondary storyline involving exiled ZZ and the Russian Mafia which has devastating and heartbreaking consequences that progresses the story years ahead.

In short, this is not a 'feel good' romance but a sad insight into the turmoil, devastation, hurt and heartache that they each had on one-another's lives. There's still the usual misfit secondary characters in the Club and the strong brotherhood, loyalty and honor that brings. But this was a sad, heartbreaking, poignant, raw, gut-wrenching, fleetingly happy story about forgiveness, redemption, bad decisions, lost opportunities and eventually, through it all, finally peace and love do prevail. There are some very tender touching scenes, mild sex and, as Dorothy and Hawk rekindle their love, there are bitter-sweet times as their futures look so bleak.

As usual the narration was great.

Worth a credit? For any fan of this well written series, I guess this saga must be listened to and it leads to what the now nasty ex member ZZ has just stumbled on to create havoc for the Horsemen in the next book. And if, like me, you're a fan of the leathers, the "you feel me brother" snappy dialogue, the old ladies and the angst and dramas that surround the MC Club then it's got to be a YES creditworthy listen. But just don't expect the usual 'he saw her, he wanted her, he got her' listen.

"I wanted to live the fairy tale"

Any additional comments?

There were many things rolling around in my mind when I first saw the cover for UNBELOVED. Mainly that I saw three people on the cover. I know the history of Jace and Dorothy and now the future (me being hopeful) of Dorothy and Hawk. I didn't know what it meant they were both still there (on the cover)...

But then again, when you go into a Madeline book you know you should just leave your expectations at the door. Along with your apprehension. I have come to care for these characters a great deal and I couldn't wait to see Dorothy in particular get an HEA. As much as I was scared she wouldn't...

This emotional book - It tore me apart, plain and simple. It’s such an emotional ride about so many broken individuals that it left me feeling a bit sad about the hardships they faced. The things they missed, the bumps they hit. No, some things may not seem fair. Love isn't easy for them. But true love stayed true ’til the end. Through the good and the bad. Dorothy’s story is not the same as the others in the series. And I was perfectly ok with that...

As much as I cared for Dorothy before, I truly came to understand her and feel for her in this book. Her life, her emotions, her wants and needs. What a life she’s had! Then there’s Jace who might’ve broken my heart too. And lastly there’s Hawk. Who stole my heart...

Another job very well done for Madeline who manages to suck me into her world with every installment in new ways. Great sex, loads of fucked- up-ness, biker style, It was all supper goodness for me!! I’m such a glutton for more punishment :)

Cliffhanger alert

I really enjoyed every one of these books. They were raw and gritty. All of the heroines had a certain strength to them that was surprising considering that the books are about the men in an MC. The women all show compassion and the ability to truly love despite the things that life throws at them. My favorite woman is Dorothy. She struggled the most and just wanted to find love but tended to be blinded by her own path that she was afraid to stray from. She turned out to be a survivor. My favorite man was Dirty. I emphasized with him so much. It does take someone loving you and patience from that person to get past what he went through.
This book has a cliffhanger. The story was amazing but where is the next book?
The narration was great. I almost wish these books had been written in a clear him/her style as it does give the males point of view and I would have loved to have heard a male narrator on this but Tatiana did a great job.

SO Incredibly Good!!

I'm definitely not a biker babe, but these bike club love stories have me completely hooked! I've loved every single story from Madeline Sheehan so far, and based on the ending of this one, I am going to be counting down the minutes until book 5 is released!!

This was a super gritty love story, featuring betrayals of epic proportions, and characters that spent nearly a lifetime trying to find a slice of happiness and love. This is such a well written and expertly narrated series. Start with book 1 if you're new to the series. I highly recommend it!

Hesitant to buy this one but so worth it

Would you consider the audio edition of Unbeloved to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version, so I cannot answer this question.

What other book might you compare Unbeloved to and why?

I love this whole series. I was surprised to find I lied this book as well.

What does Tatiana Sokolov bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is one of the best performers on audio book... her voice is pleasant, she manages to get the intonation right .... and he "man" voice is not so bad.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Without giving away the premise of the story .... when Dorothy finally finds herself and knows what she wants.

Any additional comments?

This whole series is worth reading. Sometimes its harsh ... very mature themes, but I find it enjoyable and lose myself which is what I enjoy in listening. I would highly recommend a credit for this book!

Love these books

Any additional comments?

You may not like the subject matter or language but Ms. Sheehan has a lot of depth when she writes and is insightful. Her stories and characters connect well and her books are enjoyable and the interaction between her characters is often entertaining and funny. Some folks may be offended by the language and violence, so it's not for everyone, but I enjoy her writing, the scenes that are sometimes rough, and the grit she brings to all her characters.

LOVE THIS SERIES!!!

I have fallen for this series, bravo Ms.Sheehan! I love the way she carried this story and all characters from book to book. I love each and every character and I can't say enough about the creation of the lives of each of them. They can be so rude, crude, funny and yet full of love for their families and their brothers. Just loved it all! I'm hoping for more books in this series since the door is left open. Then to bring life to these characters the narrator was the best I've ever heard on audible!! Fabulous job Ms. Sokolov!!
I truly believe you made these characters and it would not have been the same with another narrator.. Thank you so much!

Drama, over the top grit..I have to be in the mood

You really have to be in the mood to listen to a series like this. But, if you are in the mood for dark drama, cussing and grit; go for it. This writing reminds me of the scene in Deadpool where the two main characters are trying to top each other over whose childhood was more abusive; everything and the kitchen sink. I've enjoyed all of the books so far except book 3. (can't remember what the title is) Cage and Tegan are really unlikable characters. Read some of the reviews for book 3 to get the gist and skip it, save the credit.
I guess I'm in the minority, but I don't like the narration. She is a fine narrator concerning the dialogue: doing different voices, male and female, appropriate emotions; she's pretty good. It's with the narrative that I have a problem. In between the dialogue she sounds like she is reading a Disney Princess book. Her cadence is oddly bright for such a gritty book, she puts emphasis on certain words in every sentence that makes her sound like she is reading to children. But apparently a lot of people like her. To each their own.
