Publisher's summary

He's always saved her. Now she's going to return the favor....

Gray Duffy never thought he'd end up as the co-lead guitarist of Oblivion, one of the hottest rock bands in the country. Even better? He's sharing the experience with his best friend, Jazz. Since the day she'd showed up as his family's new foster kid, Gray has protected her. Loved her. And not just platonically either. After all these years of wanting her in his bed, he still doesn't know what it would be like to have her mouth on his.

Except for that one time. The time he'd shared her with Nick. The best worst night of his life.

Now they're living their dream. They're making music together and spending every waking moment trapped in tight quarters. With success at their fingertips, the time is right for him to finally make his move toward the woman he needs.

He just never figured he would lose control. Or that she would find out.

They've loved each other through everything. But what if this time love just isn't enough?

THEIR MELODY WAS LOVE BUT THEIR TIMING WAS OFF

Jazz and Gray's worlds would never be the same again when an instant connection was forged from the first time they met when Jazz needed a foster home and a family to love at the tender age of 14 (he was 16). Because that was the very start of a relationship that would eventually grow into a soul connection, a beautiful love and a deep bond that, during the years, will be tested and stretched over and over again.... but never ever broken.

Their love story is told mainly in the present as they both struggle with their untold feelings for each other which, over the years, have been bottled up, stirred and is now set to explode as the sexual tension has reached its peak and if it's not quelled it will destroy them both. They've both grown up through some wonderful, difficult and tension-filled times and have made bad choices before (all told through various flashback chapters) but finally, after all the years of suppressed feelings, being together will surely be a good thing right? Wrong, it has to be a great thing..... because terrible secrets, jealousy and insecurities lie in wait for Jazz and Gray who had thought that all their dramas were forever in the past unaware of the turmoil and heartache that lay ahead.

A roller-coaster love story filled with a lot of emotional confusion when the timing still wasn't quite right for them, even in the 'present day' time when they had a blissful few weeks of sex, truths, sex, secrets, sex and passion, sex and love (well you get the drift), because the bubble was obviously going to burst. Gray had always been her rock, however this time it was Jazz who had to hold on tight to the tattered end of their frayed relationship hoping that Gray would still be there on the other end.... holding on just as desperately and just as tight.

This was another angst and drama filled listen as this creative team of Authors spun the dial of a deep relationship between soul-mates that, over time, went through so many settings.... but only ever because of love. Dual POV's, a tender sweet sometimes dark chaotic and heartbreaking but very addictive story, a hot Rocker Hero and a strong loving Drumer Heroine, great secondary characters with dysfunctional, crazy yet loyal Band mates and a team of narrators that I personally love. Because, as they verbally interact and spar with each other, it makes the listen more lifelike, realistic and it flows seemlessly so you just become an invisible spectator watching, listening and engrossed in each scene as they mentally unfold.

Worth a credit? The flashbacks, I thought, were good because they gave the emotional layers and history to the bond they formed and shared. It may have started off as a twisted mess, carried on through highs and lows but it ended up just where it should..... with a HEA ending. So, IMO, YES an entertaining, enjoyable, addictive and creditworthy poignant Rocker love story.... aaaaaand next please.

Loved Gray & Jazz

Another amazing performance by narrators Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott. These two really know how to bring the characters and story to life. I loved how they brought different emotions into each scene and showed the personality of each character. They had me fall more in love with Gray and Jazz's love story. I would recommend this story and series to fans of rockstar romance books. They will not be disappointed. I cannot wait to listen to the next book in this series.

Keeping it Real

This is a good, solid rocker romance with band drama, groupies, sex, drugs and rock 'n roll. It's not perfect, but it's still pretty good. [example- The record company exec's attempt at playing tyrannical, dictatorial, kindergarten teacher was one of those situations where I had to make up a different story in my head for why the band was forcibly separated because NO ONE would put up with that, no matter how many drugs they were on. So, in my head, the band decided on the split as the best way to sort themselves out.] However, the characters are well-written and likable, and there is a good story arc with a fair amount of drama and a great deal of endearing moments that make it a sweet romance. Additionally, I liked the furthering of the band's story as a whole and came to like Nick and Simon, and even Lila, more in the end.

The dual narration team is a good format for this book. They both have good tone to their voices and do a pretty good job, even with both occasionally reading sentences awkwardly and the female narrator's overuse of the Valley Girl dialect and goofy mispronunciations, like: "OOH-gle," "EX-specially," "CHAST-lee," "BURR-ee," "ma-cob-RUH" and "WINE-some personality." Like a lot of performances, this one was so close to being awesome but fell short and lost a star or two because of silly things like that. It's not really the narrators' fault. I wish I could offer my services as an audio script supervisor/picky grammar and pronunciation nazi/"Yo--you need to go back and read it like this" engineer.

Credit-worthy? Yes, though I got it during a sale for less than the cost of a credit. While not quite in the same league as Olivia Cunning's Sinners On Tour, this is a worthwhile series with interesting characters and good narration, and I'm looking forward to seeing where they all end up.

When Gray hit bottom he took me with him, back to a very dark place from many years ago.

Solid story but the highlight was the two narrators they brought the book to life. Please give us more like this!

Too much angst.....very predictable

I loved book one. I read book 1.5 and it was still good. This book was awful. It was very predictable and contrived. Every other chapter is a flash back. The back story could have been told in a prologue or in the first couple chapters. Switching between time periods didn't really add anything to the story. Don't waste your money or time. It's really not worth it.

Gray makes me Swoon!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character in this series has been Jazz and this book was no exception. I was thrilled to find out she was one of the main characters this time. I also loved finding out more about Gray because he wasn't focused on very much in the first book.

What does Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrators bring life to the characters and give them personality. They do a great job of making you love the characters you're supposed to love and loathe the others (like Cricket...most annoying chic ever).

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were so many moving moments in this book. I loved the relationship between Gray and Jazz and how they were the best of friends and didn't act on their feelings for the other because each worried they weren't good enough for the other.

Any additional comments?

So far this is my favorite book in the series because of the main characters and they way their relationship played out. The narrators go back and forth between male and female throughout the entire story making it sound like a movie playing out. I love these narrators and am ready to listen to the next book. I can't get enough of these characters!

Jazz & Grey Are Perfect

If you could sum up Twisted in three words, what would they be?

Romantic, hot, perfect

What was one of the most memorable moments of Twisted?

I absolutely loved the video shoot scene, for so many reasons. Not only are Grey and Jazz wonderful together, but all of the guys in the band make every scene that they're in even more fabulous.

What does Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Kai and Wen did an excellent job of voicing the characters in TWISTED. I love that the listener can tell exactly who's talking, and that's all because of the way that the two narrators are able to give each character their own special signature. The two of them also work really well together, or seem to, which is always nice when listening to a multi-narrator story.

Any additional comments?

I just really enjoyed this story.

On Hold No Longer

What did you love best about Twisted?

I loved that we finally got the whole of Gray and Jazz's story from the beginning!

What other book might you compare Twisted to and why?

I don't compare books to each other.

Have you listened to any of Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross ’s performance is always stellar! Each book gets better as they get to know the characters better :) I love the way each character shows the subtle nuances of emotions and moods as well as subtext in the story I would have missed had I just read the book. I love the way these two work together! I can't wait to listen to their next performance :)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

As always with this series, this book had me laughing loudly! Especially at Simon's antics. I really enjoy all the characters and the way they interact :)

Any additional comments?

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. The first book is Rocked. The second book is Rock, Rattle & Roll. This is the third book. I can't wait to listen to Untwisted!

Jazz has always loved Gray. Since she first met him as his foster sister when she was 14 and he 16. But she also wanted a family of her own... And his parents were the best she had ever met. Nothing good lasts forever. Or at least that is the way it has always seemed to Jazz... At least not for her. She is tired of waiting though and has finally steeled herself to make a move. Will Gray give them a real chance as a couple? Or does he not feel that way about her anymore? What has been off with him lately? Where does he go when he sneaks off all the time?

Gray has loved Jazz from almost the first moment he saw her! She was off limits... Too young, too innocent... And his foster sister. And now the guilt from that awful day and what Brent did stands between them still. It was all his fault. Can she ever forgive him? Does he even deserve forgiveness? Will she finally consent to be his? How can he possibly be worthy of her?

***This series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy mild taboo contemporary rockstar romances with unconventional adopted families, self depreciating humor and lots of drama to go along with all the steamy love scenes :)
