A sweet cozy romance

I really enjoyed this sweet cozy romance! It follows the story of Joss- a former missionary kid and her blossoming relationship with handsome and dedicated Ben. She is hesitant to start a relationship with him but through sweet and thoughtful gestures he begins to win over her heart. This story is set near Chicago- and I loved all the references to the sites that I've visited myself- it made this story feel much more real. I loved that this was a "clean" romance with lots of sweet moments but no scenes I'd be embarrassed to have someone overhear me listening to. I'd definitely recommend this for a quick clean romantic story- I'll be looking forward to going back and reading her first book in this series!

Beautiful story with sweet narration makes it

Was beautiful. Joss had a view of the world around through the eyes of one with a gentle soul and a broken heart. Ben comes in and Joss life was not the same. She began to live again. And we get a few moments with a pigeon and origami. Need I say more. This was a very quick read that satisfied the holiday required romance.

Narrator Review of . . . PAPER LOVE (A Chicago Christmas) . . . Sara did a good job relaying this romance with all it nuances. She allowed for her voice to set the tone and carry you through.

A sweet, clean romance for the holidays

** I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Aubrey Wynne. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it. **

This was a cute, sweet love story that, while cleaner than i normally prefer, was still an enjoyable read. The characters were well-written and relatable and the plot was appropriately paced. This wasn't an insta-love romance and Ben actually had to work to win Joss over, and that was a nice change.

The emotional variety in this story was beautiful. From the lows of tragic, untimely loss to the euphoric highs of finding love, Ms. Wynne penned a story that was compelling, enjoyable, and moving. “Paper Love” had just enough of a realistic touch to be relatable while maintaining an overall feel of an approaching Happily Ever After. Ben and Joss were a couple that I rooted for from the beginning.

Ms. Sheckells was a fabulous narrator. She voiced the characters well and it was easy to distinguish each from the others, and her emotional portrayals were spot-on. She truly brought this story to life for me, and I’ll definitely be looking for more of her work! The recording was professional quality, with no random background noises, volume changes, or audible movement from the narrator. All-in-all, I’m glad I got the audio version of “Paper Love” as opposed to the print version.

Bottom line: I highly recommend this for anyone who is looking for a clean, sweet romance with depth. The narrator was also great, and I'll be looking for more of her work.

Awesome Story!!

This story is set in the Windy of Chicago. It is about Joss Palmateer who grew up in a Papua New Guinea mission who is dealing with living in the U.S and the sudden death of her mother. She definitely has a different view on life and is not looking to fall in love. She doesn't have a social life until she meets her friends brother Ben Montgomery a sexy Physical Therapist. She ignores his advances but, he gets some help from a homing pigeon [that became Ben's pet], family and an old origami legend he attempts to win Joss' love. If you want to know what happens/ turns out you really need to read or listen to Paper Love!!

Finding love after the loss of a loved one

Joss is recovering from the unexpected loss of her beloved mother and trying to adjust to live in the USA. She grew up on the island of Papua, NG, with her missionary parents. Her bff invites her to attend a singles party that is hosted by her brother, who has recently returned to their hometown. Ben is sexy and flirty and Joss tries hard to resist his charms. Ben is attracted to the quiet, gentle Joss and doesn't understand why she's avoiding him...but he does not give up. He woos Joss and coaxes her out of her shell. Will Ben and Joss have an HEA or will Joss be too scared to give love a try?
This was a quick read with some romantic moments that made me swoon...#TeamBen.

Great plot wonderful humor and characters I LOVED

What a awesome story of two people so different but yet so much alike when they come together sparks fly and love happens with some trying times in between. There is so much fun and laughter in this book but at the same time so much sadness, lose and confusion. Joss has lost so much from the home away from home she misses so much but what she misses more is her mother and the love her whole family shared. Now it is just her, her sister and father who are trying to find peace in a world where they have lost so much. Ben is handsome, use to women falling for him but he is very caring. What both he and Joss have in common is shyness, a feeling over life being too much and trying to work out things in their lives.

Ms. Wynne does and outstanding narration with her character voice that give deep sexy tones to her males and lovely sweet sexy ones to her females. Her emotions are wonderful she has such a caring tone but can still reach those angry and lost ones very well. She brings true emotions to the listen that pull you in giving you a story you can buy into making it real. I loved how she brought out the fathers off the wall humor really making it a fun listen. She showed how truly caring each family member was and how so how painful it was to lose those you love. There are no background noises, no repeating of words, and no volumes changes just a truly enjoyable clean and clear listen. Her performance was outstanding which made this a win, win listen for me.

The author gives a compelling story of passion from different points on many different things. The love and lost of a dear mother, as well as the country they all adored. Each feel the loss in a different way but each are trying their best to support the other. I loved the father his off the wall humor matches my own so it was very easy to relate to him. Joss’s sister was fun but you sure could feel her pain. I have to say my heart went out to Joss the most because she is torn from the loss of her mother, supporting her family and still wanting to go back and support her adopted family. She sure does love it in the small village in New Guinea. She isn’t ready for love and thinks Ben is a play boy being able to pick any women he wants. Ben isn’t really into the one and only love but finds her very attractive and wants to get to know her better. He isn’t ready for her to turn him down and he isn’t giving up. He falls fast and hard, I really like how he deals with it all and do love his pigeon and how that came to be. I had many laughs over their time together. His origami takes my breath away and what he uses it for really is great. I really loved the buildup of this romance it was steady but easy. The two families help work it out with a few surprises along the way. I loved their day trip and how that plays out. Ben does have a few tricks up his sleeve. I loved the humor all throughout the book, the plot was outstanding, the characters even better.

Bottom line this was an outstanding read that really holds your attention pulling you in from the first page, keeps you smiling and laughing as well as giving you some sorrow and pain. This is the only audio the author has at this time I sure hope there will be more. I enjoyed this so much I bought the other two in the series. Now to just find the time to read them, they do sound as awesome as this one. I believe most people will truly enjoy the read. If you love humor it is a must. I do hope you will pick it up and you enjoy it as much as I did.
