Publisher's summary

Franco Genovese is the drummer for world-renowned American rock band Rook. He's got it all. A killer smile. Tattoos. Talent. Razor-sharp wit and humor. And a heart as big, and generous, as they come. Life is good. Steady. Uncomplicated. Just the way he likes things. Until one night at an unassuming L.A. bar changes everything.

Enter Gemma Hendricks. She's a successful young architect from Northern England with an adorable smile, sarcasm for days, and an unparalleled trusting heart. The attraction is instant. So is their friendship. It's also temporary because they'll both be heading home, thousands of miles apart from each other, in a few days. Or is it?

There's something Gemma wants more than anything else. And when Franco propositions her to provide what she's looking for, everything changes. Will it transform friendship into love, or will it be their ruin?

Jeremy York is NOT Franco

What did you love best about Franco?

The story is great from start to finish in typical Kim Holden fashion!

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Franco is every bit the silly, flirty, easy going rock star we've all come to love and Kim captures his personality expertly. This narrator however, sounds like an uncool, middle aged creeper and it completely throws off the entire story. All the fun vibes and playful banter we got from Rook in the previous books are dead. Jeremy York isn't a bad narrator, he's just bad for this book

Any additional comments?

Narration can make or break a story! I highly recommend avoiding the audiobook and reading the kindle or print version instead. The story is amazing, Kim Holden is amazing, Franco is amazing.

God bless the wankers!!!!

This is Franco's and Gemma love story. They meet by pure coincidence in a bar but I think fate brought them together. They are perfect for each other. They both have a magnificent carisma, great sense of humor and a bright energy that you just want to be near them. What's wrong with this two?! They both live very far away and started as a friendship develops into a great love. They both feel at some point that that love is a bit of a burden to one another. Thinking that it was brought by solidarity and not real love.
Franco and Gemma will have to stop the speculation and say what's truly on their hearts to finally get their HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

Sweet companion story to Bright Side

Sweet companion story to Bright Side and Gus, developing another of Holden's Rook band member characters.

Franco and Gemma

Another excellent story in the aftermath of Bright Side. This one is about Franco, Gus' bandmate and best guy friend. The events of this book coincide with the timeline of Gus' story, but definitely focus on Franco and his almost too late developing friendship with Gemma. Gemma is a British native one week away from going back home when she meets Franco during an extremely uncomfortable blind date.
I wasn't sure what to expect from Franco's story, but I was pleasantly surprised when it veered slightly more on the positive side from the devastating undertone of the series.
Although I wasn't sold on it at first, I really enjoyed listening to Jeremy York as the voice of Franco, with the laid back and relaxed vibe of the character. In my mind's eye I originally thought him to be a little darker - maybe more angsty even, but still just as soulful.

A must read

This is book 3 in the series. Read them in order with lots of tissue. I almost have up on this author, the stories were so sad so often, but in the entirety of the series there was such amazing messages I will always be grateful to the author. THANK YOU FOR EVERY AMAZING WORD.
