Love can fix Damage and tame Beasts

This book is a great introduction to Bijou Hunters damaged series. You get to meet Farrah and Cooper and are introduced to the rest of the Johansen family and the town of Ellisburg.

Farrah has experienced a lot of tragedy and bad in her young life. She's come to college to start fresh. Cooper is a rough around the edges biker. While a biker is the last person Farrah wants in her life Cooper is exactly what she needs.

Over all the story is great just know there is alot of cussing and that some of the events could be triggering.

The narrator was new to me but definitely someone I will be checking out. I can't wait to get the next book in this series!

YA Romance At It's BEST.

OK. So some of the sex was a bit heavy for YA, but the characters were so in that scene that it's all I can categorize it as. I loved the way I was kept waiting until 3/4 through to verify what I expected as her reason for fear. Conner was every girls dream but I believed it. He screwed up enough to keep him real. The writing included peripheral imagery that heightened my visualization. A must for me as well as a HEA ending because the premise could be expanded with more angst and background ending with a cliffhanger and a sequel. The narrator's voice was easy to listen to. The only complaint was in Connor's portrayal. He was mono tonal with no emotion, all statements ending tone down. This book warrants dual narration with male and female narrators.
I was given this book free by the narrator, author, or publisher for an honest review through Audiobook Boom. Thank you! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Love this story!

So much more depth than expected. They are NA (new adults) so there is a lot of insecurity and immaturity. But I love Cooper and Farah so much! I wish the author had been able to put more if the series on audio.

The narrator was fabulous!

Damaged and the Beast.....

HMMMM I HAVE MIXED EMOTIONS ABOUT THIS BOOK....So let's Start with the Narrator, Rayna Whitney DID AN AMAZING JOB! You can definitely tell the difference between character & her voice is really great! she will be on my "TO LISTEN TO LIST" from now on!! GREAT JOB RAYNA!!! Ok now on to the story....I have such conflicting feelings!! I wish the End WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SO RUSHED!! I wish we would've heard more about Tawny & when she arrived!! The parts I had THE HARDEST TIME DEALING WITH ARE,
1. This book says it's a YA(YOUNG ADULT)IN my honest opinion I think with how much(& how graphic)the sex in it is, it should NOT be listed as YOUNG ADULT!
2. The wording sometimes through me off REALLY BAD!!
OVERALL It wasn't a bad book! I did like it! I think the storyline could've been EPIC! You have to really "GO THERE" IN SOME OF THE ISSUES THOUGH!! It DON'T ALWAYS HAVE TO BE ABOUT SEX!! I GOT SO SICK OF"(Cooper)Why Do You Love Me???(Farrah)Cause Your Hot" REALLY??? I MEAN COME ON!!! It definitely has some Unique ideas & it REALLY COULD'VE BEEN AMAZING!!

**** SO WAS IT WORTH A CREDIT???
**I'D SAY YES IT WAS! I DON'T REGRET READING IT!

Too Much Cussing

I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased review. This was not a YA story. It was all adult content. The end came too fast but hopefully there is a book 2. Cooper was very protective and I could not believe that he really cared about Farah. But he let go of his mannish ways and invested time in getting to know her and to help her deal with some of her issues. There were a lot of issues in her life but she knew she wanted to be a teacher and did not let anything derail her plans. The narrator was good and made each voice it's own voice. You could tell she had done narration before. She helped make the story. The only part that was YA to me was the interaction between the siblings and the name calling between Cooper and Farah. There was just too much cussing for me. But I guess with the way they were raised you have to expect it. Although some of it did not help the story and could have been left out. Loved the brother's story and it was interwoven just right.

Really enjoyed this listen!

Bijou hunter wrote a great story. I think she captured the age of Farrah appropriately. Immature, indecisive and learning her way in a whole new world.
I also enjoyed the narration, voices seemed accurate for ages. Male voice was done well enough to not be obnoxious.
Well worth a credit!

Damaged and the Beast

What did you love best about Damaged and the Beast?

I loved how protective he is of her even from the beginning, although he is a bit too jealous too.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Damaged and the Beast?

When she told her mom she was moving out the the chaos that drove her to the decision and what happened afterwards

Have you listened to any of Rayna Whitney’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I am not sure, but she did awesome on this one!!!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were moments where i wanted to cry, very few times made me want to laugh (the mom talking to her the first time they met i laughed a bit), but the end made me tear up a bit.

Any additional comments?

Cooper's A Beast Alright... Not In A Good Way

First things first Bijou Hunter is a good storyteller!

The problem is the story she's telling! This story is about a poor girl Farah, raised by her father, she moves to a new town and moves in with her estranged mother. Farah meets popular rich kid Cooper and this is where the story goes off track! I can deal with dark romances andflawed characters, but in this one Cooper has flaws are too serious! Examples you ask? Ok, it's fine for a guy to say he wants to f*** you. It's not ok for a guy to say f*** you in anger for anything short of finding another guy balls deep in you. (That I could understand, but trust me it wasn't used in that context!) It's ok for a guy to want to have sex with you while you're inebriated, it's not ok for a guy to actually have sex with you while drunk especially when it's their first time!!

Farah also lets Cooper's sister walk all over her, there's constant name calling by both Cooper and his sister and it's all just too much for me.

I'll check out another book by this author and see if this is a common thread in her books, because she truly does show promise as a writer and dark romance is a difficult one to master.

The narration by Rayna Whitney was good.

3.5 Mixed Feelings

First off, it harped a little too much on Farah's issues. Yes, she has them and because of her upbringing, she deserves to have them, but I feel like the author could have cut out 3 chapters of redundant explanations of them. Bc of these issues, Farah was a little too "I can't trust ANYONE-IN-THE-WHOLE-WIDE-WORLD." and it got a little annoying.

Also, the main secondary characters, Skye and Bailey were THE WORST HUMAN BEINGS ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH!! They did nothing but beat down Farah with bad advice, jealousy, and hate throughout the whole book~ but we're supposed to believe that they were her friends and really wanted what was best for her & Cooper in the end.

Add a 5 year old baby sister that uses words that would make me blush and I was a little put off. Kids swearing is not cute or funny. Seriously!! It's like authors turn into cliche machines when they wring about anyone under 10 years old. I can'[t stand it. Let the little ones be pure, not as messed up as the adults.

Cooper was definitely an Alpha male, surrounded by idiots that are his family. He is a little unstable with jealousy and he's violent. He has no less than 3 or 4 insane fist fights and a few other instances when someone he is mad at disappears. BUT, Farah is supposed to believe that he would never hurt her. Yeah, it is a little off the deep end.

In the end, I am not sure about this one. There are several follow up stories that build on this one but focus on other people. I MAY read about Tawny, Farah's sister, but I am not sure.

I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review

Rayna Whitney was good with the delivery of the story
