Publisher's summary

Tall and thin, twenty-eight-year-old Bronwyn Palmer has become positively gaunt, a ghost of her former self. That self was - and still is - the wife of a rich, handsome executive with an ocean-view house and his own security staff.

It was in that house, two years ago, that Bryce Palmer learned Bronwyn was pregnant with their first child. But Bryce’s rage over his impending fatherhood touched off a chain reaction of emotional and physical traumas that wounded them both. For Bronwyn, it meant fleeing the perfect marriage to start over with nothing but a precocious daughter named Kayla to care for. For Bryce, it meant a tortuous two years spent blaming his wife for deserting him, and living with the pain of not knowing his child. Now a chance encounter has brought Bronwyn back into Bryce’s life, both bearing scars...and neither knowing the whole truth of that fateful night that drove them apart.

You Can’t Miss with Natasha Anders

Natasha Anders is one of my favorite authors. I love that she chose Justine Eyre to bring the angst the characters feel to life. The combination is an excellent one. This is a repeat read as is all of her work. It’s hard to pick a favorite. Thanks Natasha!

Holy Crap! WOW!

I don't even know how to explain this book, almost anything I say will give it away. As with the first book, this couple is legally married when the book starts, though they've been apart for 2 years. There is so much bitterness and anger, Bryce is a total jerk, honestly I wanted to beat the crap out of him half the book. I totally understood why Brownwyn (I know really, that's her name?) was resisting so hard. She tried and tried and he was a JERK with a capital J! It becomes a sweet story and I love it. There were a lot of emotions. Honestly I think this is a good one for anyone, but especially married women, though we hopefully haven't gone through anything like this understand anger, bitterness and rejection at times. We also understand reconciliation and rejuvenation. Loved it!!!

Hmmmmm

The guy in this book, Bryce, acted like a first class a$$hole. But at least he had a personality. The woman, Bronwyn, was a nonentity. She spent the first half of the book sick and docile. She let the mmc move her around like a posable doll. She let him take his pleasure with her body. She let him yell at her. Allowing someone to treat you poorly says as much about you as it does about them. And then in the second half she let Jesus take the wheel as her marriage slid toward (and into) divorce. She wasn’t passionate about him. There was no hate or love. The dynamic was more weird than annoying.

It was made even weirder by the fact that this book isn’t about a “misunderstanding” it’s quite literally about man who experienced an intense hallucination during a very traumatic event. And whose subsequent PTSD caused him to double down on the belief that it was real. Bryce actually lost his grip on reality. He kept arguing for the veracity of that hallucination. He even had other people convinced. On top of that we find out he was the victim of childhood abuse. It’s really odd that when all of this came out, no one suggested (demanded) he go to group therapy because that guy really needed a psycho-social remedy. Dude either hid in his house or went to SO MANY RESTAURANTS. Do people think that eating out is a cure or what?!?

Great sequal!

I really like these break up, but not.... books... I feel for the (h) characters... they are written so well. I really am becoming a Natasha Anders fan here... I loved the first book, totally love this one too. The hubby... boy what character development. I simply love who real these books are... like all the characters have flaws that make them a bit more realistic...then get a narrator like Eyre... Seriously...that gained this series an extra star!

Great sale or credit!

Another good story...

What an angst fest this was, and surprisingly, I enjoyed every bit of it!! Very much like the first book in the series ("An unwanted wife"), "A husbands regret" follows the same pattern: cold, Cruel, Jerky husband; Mistreated, doormat type wife. A series of events unfold, tragedy strikes, years pass, and finally they each see the light and they both make a 180degree change, so the wife grows backbone and stands up for herself, and husband realizes he's a Jerk and grovels non-stop. I don't know how the author does it, but she manipulates your emotions, so at first you hate the husband but as the story unfolds, you end up feeling bad for him and then just falling in love with him!
This story broke my heart for both main characters, for what they go through; it also made me want to shake them at different times, mainly out of frustration for not being open and say what they feel and for not talking about what happened to them in the past. This whole drama stems from a secret kept, assumptions made, and misunderstandings not being cleared when they should've been cleared.
Anyway the story gripped me and couldn't stop listening until I finished it!
Narration: Since I absolutely disliked the narration of the previous book in this series, I have to say I was very leery of the narration on this one. Having said that, I can report that I'm pleased with Justine Eyre's job with this book. She toned down the groaning and the over the top ridiculous accents and affections when reading this book. Her tone was more subdued, therefore not distracting from the story.
