Publisher's summary

If you have ever been tempted to sin, and everything within you cried out for God's help, listen up. We all have days when it seems that falling is much easier than standing. We promise ourselves, and God, that we will do our best to serve Him, if He will just get us through this temptation. And, well meaning believers all around the world hope for victory, but keep falling short. What can we do? What is the key to fulfilling God's plan for our lives?

Yield Not to Temptation: Experiencing Christ's Victory in 40 Days, promises to focus your mind on Jesus, such that victory will appear to be the only option. You will learn to rejoice in His righteousness, relish in His promises, and respond to His leading.

You, dear friend, can experience Christ's victory, beginning today. Don't give up on holiness. Rather, give all to your holy God, and He will lift you up.

The most helpful book I've read in 2014

Would you listen to Yield Not to Temptation again? Why?

I would listen to this book over and over again! I struggle with temptation on a daily basis (yea, go figure I'm human). I'm so used to being beat over the head with how bad I am and how much I need to shape up when righteousness is talked about. This BOOK THOUHGH!!!!! actually painted doing the right thing in such a good light that actually made me want to go through the simple steps. I feel so encouraged and burden free after listening to this book! I have courage to face life and face my issues

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved when we were continually reminded of Christ's power to overcome. The reader kept stating that it's not our power, and that was relieving, because I didn't have to do the work, but I was able to experience the benefits AS A GIFT!!!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book! I was just so extremely encouraged!

Any additional comments?

I read and/or listen combined to over 150 books a year. And in 2014, this was by far the best investment of my time and resources. It's a book that you can take with you everywhere in principle. A lot of the more niche books that I read, I can see working in some part of my life that is isolated, but this substance of this book is applicable to every moment of every human life and experience.

Hopeful, motivating, inspiring!

What other book might you compare Yield Not to Temptation to and why?

I would compare this book to my favorite book of all times Steps to Christ because I feel like I could read it again and again and never stop learning new things. Every once in a while you will experience a book that you feel compelled to share with everyone you know. This is one of those books. I learned practical ways of relying on Christ more day to day and that is priceless.

Which character – as performed by Dorothy Deavers – was your favorite?

JESUS!

A must read for everyone longing to please the Lord. You'll want to put each lesson into action, yesterday!

Practical and Hands-On

Would you listen to Yield Not to Temptation again? Why?

This is the kind of book I have to listen to repeatedly because there are so many lessons and points made throughout the book I can't remember them one time around.

What about Dorothy Deavers’s performance did you like?

She read with emphasis and seemed to reflect the author's meaning.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

David's candid writing style is unique and it's like he's talking right to the reader, frequently in a humorous way though he's not necessarily trying to.

Any additional comments?

He doesn't waste time writing filler and fluff material but makes valid points and moves on. I like knowing I'm listening to substance vs theory.

This is a personal preference, but I would like to hear David or another male voice reading the book.

Great book and must read for all Christians!
