Dranatization

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No. I don't like the dramatization.

What does George W. Sarris bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

nothing. I feel he takes away from the book with his dramatization of satan's voice. No caps for satan.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This is the bible not a fiction novel. It is not about emotions but the reality of God's word. It is not entertainment.

Any additional comments?

Overall the audio is good I like Mr. Sarris' other books of the bible but I would prefer if he did not do the dramatization. I find it very annoying. I just want to hear the word of God I can use my own imagination.

The book of Job, by Hovel Audio

I would give this a 5 Star instead of a 4 .. if the narrator had not infused so much emotion into the characters but rather changed up voices. I understand why it is done as the history here has emotion but where it all lay is in the words themselves. With this said .. DOWNLOAD and LISTEN it is FANTASTIC, the Word of God is Matchless. If you are using KJV version of the bible it is verbatim. Of course, the book of Job shows not only trial but great tribulation, reminding us to pray for others even when we feel we are the one needing prayer. God is Great!

This is what I was looking for...

The Book of Job long fascinated me. Having read it once or twice on my own, I wanted to experience it while listening to it. I was a bit worried that the King James Version might be hard to understand but the poetry rang through it.
The reading was wonderful... The performance was excellent without over dramatization. Previous to this I listened to The Book of Job: A Biography. Glad I did, despite it being very academic, that book gave me a terrific insight into the history, versions, and interpretations.
Enjoy.
