Any additional comments?

This is NOT the King James Version of the Holy Bible. It's actually the Contemporary English Version. The deuterocanonical books are included. It's a pleasant surprise to find that the Book of Sirach is read by Nelson Runger.

CEV not KJV - Picture is correct

Thank you for the review that mentioned the not always included Deuterocanical books (Apocrypha) were part of this version - it helped me choose this one and explains the extra time added to this reading. The sample provides a good idea on what to expect from the overall listening experience, so if you like what you hear and are ok with the CEV, you will probably appreciate this presentation. There are 15 different downloads. I have not listened to all of it but downloaded different sections to sample the readers and find the start of the New Testament which is in download Part 13, Chapter 8. The different male and female readers speak clearly and are comparable to the sample.

It would be really very nice to have chapter titles that match what is being read, but I chose not to knock off any stars for it as most versions aren't any different in this format. I was not specifically looking for any particular version but wanted no music, no overly theatrical readings and if possible, the Apocrypha included. I grew up Presbyterian so those books were always included in the Bible's used in my church, so while not necessary, I like having them there. There is no breakout ever in the description of who reads what books but you have it here in the chapter intros on this one. The CEV is similar to the NLT version as far as translations go, so it makes this more of a pleasure reading version. This is definitely not the KJV so please keep that in mind if considering this one at all. I will still look for a complete KJV or RSV on Audible, but this one makes for a nice change of pace.
