What the Critics Say

"David Benner is a keen student of both God and human personhood. It is a rare kind of book that combines wisdom about faith and understanding about the self. This is that kind of book." (John Ortberg, author and pastor)

Most helpful and clear exploration of the concepts of false self/true self.

Merton, Calvin, Augustine and Bonhoeffer other church fathers have called us into a deeper and full fellowship with God in Christ by learning who we really are. David G. Benner helps to remove the barriers and complicated ideas that keep us from knowing the true self by charting a clear course for us to do the hard work and follow Jesus into fullness of life.
