Publisher's summary

At the age of eight, Sheri Stanley was struck down in the street, by a truck, as she was getting off the school bus... and nearly died. Soulful Journey is the true story of her experiences, from that day through to today. Sheri's story describes her out-of-body trip to heaven at age eight and being able to watch herself in the hospital room as her family anxiously stood by.

It details her communications as an adult, with her beloved Mom who died suddenly in 2002, and with her sister who passed away one year ago. Sheri chronicles 30-plus years of trying to understand what she experienced on the Other Side, her fear of sharing her story, feelings of isolation and self-doubt, her quest for answers in the midst of severe PTSD and anxiety attacks, and her desire to experience again the all-encompassing Love she felt in heaven.

Her journey includes the exploration of many religions and holistic and spiritual practices as she sought to recapture the joyous minutes spent with Jesus, a search which has led her to a stronger faith today.

Sheri shares her life events, hurdles, triumphs, discoveries, and insights in this moving novel. Amidst many a dark night, when despair and loss took their toll, she explores the signs she has been given: to let her know that, all along, Jesus has been right there, by her side.

Inspiring and comforting story of loss & faith

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this book immensely and highly recommend it. Sheri talks about her near death experience at the age of 8 and how it affected her life thereafter. After losing her mother she begins to dig deeper into her faith and begins to receive signs and discovers the path she longs to be on with her faith. I found it very inspiring and comforting listening to Sheri talk about all the beautiful gifts she received from her mom when she opened herself up enough to let them be seen. Excellent on audible.

Inspiring, touching and uplifting story!

If you could sum up Soulful Journey in three words, what would they be?

An inspiring recount of Sheri Ann Stanley's walk with Jesus on her true to this physical life's journey of faith.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

Sheri's descriptive abilities are what allow the reader to experience her journey as though you are walking with her.

Have you listened to any of Sheri Ann Stanley and Mark Minervino ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was moved particularly when I learned of Sheri's mother's and sister's unexpected deaths. I truly almost came to tears as I relived both experiences with her.

Any additional comments?

I am thrilled that I took the time to listen to this book. I feel compelled to explain why I rated her "overall " & "performance" as 4 out of 5 stars: I believe that when it comes to these "qualities" of a review, as humans we will always be able to improve upon our skills. Therefore I always leave room for improvement :) I knew Sheri in middle school and never knew of her NED, her struggles with panic/anxiety, social struggles throughout her childhood, teens and young adulthood through present. After listening to this rendition, I feel more connected with her now, and I am thankful our paths crossed again - there are no mistakes or coincidences!

It Gets Better

At first, it was difficult for me not to be distracted by her reading. It didn't flow smoothly. It got better, and I believe that her message from "the Spirit" could be life changing for me.
