Deceiving

What would have made Revelations of Christ better?

This is my fault. I should have done a little more research. I wanted words from Paramhansa Yogananda, not Kriyananda. Just being honest, the presentation - his voice is not easy to listen too. It's almost like he is trying very hard to sound like a saint or preacher, putting on a show, & the breathing is simply distracting.

Has Revelations of Christ turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I just want Sri Yogananda's words, not someone else's.

What didn’t you like about uncredited’s performance?

all of it.

What character would you cut from Revelations of Christ?

none

Too much other religion bashing

I downloaded this book on audible because I really enjoyed the autobiography of a Yogi. I wanted to see what else there was from this inspired teacher. His disciple came short in my view. Rather than cynically describe the fallacy of other religions and how they come short I wish he would’ve focused more on the illumination that he witnessed from the Yogi.

To be fair, I did not listen to the whole book. And I was drowsy during two or three chapters. When I started back up this morning the whole thing around chapter 5 was basically pointing out how other religions, such as Catholicism etc., obviously, according to him, fall short. I’m not Catholic so I’m not Catholic biased and I’m not defensive per say of Catholic religion. I’m not interested in what people don’t believe. I’m not interested in learning about who they think is wrong. I just want to know what they believe. He wasn’t getting around to that fast enough for me so I deleted the book.

Revelations of Christ

I am so happy that I was fortunate enough to find this lovely book. It was in such a sweet and beautiful language that spoke to my heart. Even when I was young I found many of the common teachings disconcerting, however these words shed a new and comforting light on the teachings of our beloved Christ. Thank you Swami for sharing the good news!

Truly wonderful and most helpful

Swami Kriananda is so loving and intelligent. He opens up the Bible and the teachings of Jesus like none I have ever heard before in such a wise and interesting way.

such a needed beautiful new perspective

Growing up and inevitably walking away from the Christian faith was very easy when I listened to my heart. But I could never stop loving so many of the members of the bible including and especially Jesus.

this book gives a beautiful insight into a yogis perspective on Jesus and his teachings. This will help so many people reconcile their own upbringings with their new found spiritual calling

Negative

I wanted to hear about the divine teachings of Christ, not listen to someone’s rants about poor followers or the organizational aspects of the church and it’s short comings. I was not inspired or informed at all. The readers voice is hard to listen to after the negativity is so expertly delineated in the first and second chapters… I couldn’t make it to the third…
