Publisher's Summary

Recovering Redemption. What does it mean? Recovering: Getting back, restoring. Redemption: God’s plan of salvation, the gospel. Because we have a tendency to drift from the gospel, we must be reoriented back to the gospel. We must recover a right understanding and application of the gospel. We must see that the gospel is the fuel for salvation and sanctification and the panacea to fix all things. The heart of the problem is the problem of the heart. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9 I can’t. God can. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 God meets you where you are. But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

A Book I'd Read Again and Again!

This book is a farely easy read yet has much depth. I not only enjoyed the content but found myself being reminded of how and why I am to LOVE and interact with my brothers and sisters in Christ. I found myself and encouraged all the more in my walk. Chapters 10 on through the very last page was so encouraging and insightful. Chapters 11 and 12, I probably listened to it about three or four times. Points that I walked away with:
"Marks of a mature Christians is to forgive and absorb any offenses thrown our way and to allow any rebuttals or retaliation to fall peaceably to the ground."(paraphrasing)
"In Christ ALL relationships issues are reconcilable"(very much paraphrasing)
There are many more I could paraphrase. But I won't. My husband enjoyed what he heard and would ask, "Who'd you say wrote this? This is good stuff!"
I DO like the structure of the book. I was given the HOWs throughout majority of the book couple with some WHYs. And then, at the VERY end, was given the Overall WHY! We were Saved, Called and Sent because He has and is Redeeming Us.

Once last thing. Paul Michael did an outstanding job narrating this book. He captured the essence and personality of Matt Chandler! At times he had me laughing out loud!

Wonderful book

This book was just what I needed. Matt Chandler is one of my new favorite authors. I love how straight forward these two authors are in this book. Just wow.
