Reviving a dead prayer life

This is a very practical guide to prayer. Many, like myself, often get bored with prayer because we pray the same things over and over again. The method of praying presented in this book allows people to pray about the same issues without saying the same words.

Every Christian should read this and try it out. I highly recommend this to pastors to revive their times of prayer in their churches.

Short, Sweet, Doable

Whitney keeps to it the point in a winsome way. Praying the Bible has been the key to finding myself praying more, praying longer, and praying better.

understanding

this helped me tremendously. people have often told me to pray scriptures over someone but every time it's been explained to me they made it sound like I had to research exactly what scriptures applied to their specific situation in order to pray for them. this was so much more helpful in building my prayer life.

I knew this but didn’t know how.

We probably have all heard that it’s a good idea to “ pray the scriptures” or more specifically “ pray the Psalms “ .

And I tried.

I was taught, (or maybe mostly assumed) it meant take an entire Psalm or passage of scripture and basically read it to God like I was praying it. Of course that meant I had to find scriptures that were applicable to what was on my heart. I tried, but it was tedious and the best intentions wouldn’t last very long.

But now what this book lays out is simple — very simple. It’s not an overstatement to say it has revolutionized my prayer life.

Bottom line?

I highly recommend this book for new Christians and old gray grandpas and grandmas like myself. The book is very easy to listen to even “ on the fly” and well worth the time.
