Publisher's summary

Have you ever seen God move tangibly in a powerful worship service? Have you also been unmoved or unaffected by a lively sermon or worship experience? How can you discern when the Holy Spirit is authentically moving or when a counterfeit spirit is producing manipulation?

If the dove is the symbol of the authentic Holy Spirit, then the pigeon is a symbol of the counterfeit spirit. Unfortunately many of the claims to the presence of the dove among us are nothing but pigeon religion. Don't settle for a substitute.

Respected theologian Dr. R. T. Kendall explains eight main differences between the dove and the pigeon and then applies each to our relationship with the Holy Spirit. Listeners will come away with a refreshed sensitivity to the movement of the Spirit, a renewed knowledge of who he is, and a keen perception of how to identify counterfeit spirits.

I want the dove!

This book contains a few of the best illustrations of the Holy Spirit I have ever heard. It convicted me to the core and rekindled the fire and desire for the real move of the Holy Spirit! Come, Holy Spirit come!

This book is a valuable gift

This book was easy to listen to (except for my trouble with the narrator’s accent). Most importantly it cleared up some Christian principals for me and built up my faith, my desire to be closer to God.

Good compare and contrast

Pigeon religion by RT Kendall is good compare and contrast between the work of the Holy Spirit and the work of The Flash or of a counterfeit spirit. I thought the dove pigeon analogy was stretched at some points but overall RT can do points to what the Holy Spirit does versus what we think we are doing under the guise of the Holy Spirit. I would recommend to all especially leaders reading this book so that they are better equipped to discern true moves of God from false moves of God. On that note we must also keep in mind that true moves of God can have pigeon religion slip in and we must be on card for that as well

Incredible insight!!

Wow! I needed this book! Forever inscribed in my heart and mind the analogy of the pigeon/dove. Very needed to distinguish what often is so subtlety deceptive. Love this book! Have bought book in physical, kindle, and audio. Have gone through it three times now and will do so again and again

Absolutely 5 Stars

The church is starved in need of more books like these. His illustrations really bring home the insights he has to share. The understanding this author shares, at 80 years old, is invaluable. Someone recommended this book to me, which I am very thankful for — and now likewise wholeheartedly recommend! God bless you.
