Publisher's Summary

Written by John Owen, one of the best known of the Puritans. In The Mortification of Sin, John Owen insisted on the importance of the Christian dealing effectively with their sinful tendencies and attitudes. He believed that God, through his Word and Spirit, had provided the guidelines and the power for this to be achieved. Owen effectively dismisses various excuses for not engaging in self scrutiny and yet avoids the current trend of self absorption. In so doing he provides principles to help believers live lives of holiness. As with all of Owen's writings, continues to be widely read and greatly appreciated to this day.

Fantastic book for any true believer in the God of the bible and His Christ.
It truly points to the heart of the evil that all endure and must live with and speaks to the heart the way and means to control the evil that lies within us all even the saved. It will certainly remind you what you "must" do each and everyday to deal with the pain of sin in ones life John Owen does not mix words and it's as though he's speaking directly to you the individual listening to this one of a kind.
I MOST HIGHLY recommend it, even to those who think they've got a handle on their sinfulness.

Immensely Helpful

This book is a masterpiece on the topic of the putting to death of sin in the Christian life. I would recommend it to every Christian who can deal with a little older English. If not, there's a modernized version in print. This audiobook is excellently read and not overly long or short. I've listened through 3 times now and will likely do so again. Seriously, buy it Christian!
