Publisher's Summary

According to legend, when the founder of Zen Buddhism was asked about the main principle of his holy teaching, he replied that there was "nothing holy about it!" Now, a millennium and a half later, Tim Burkett reveals how and why the wisdom of nonholiness is the key to a joyful heart. You don't need to go looking for something sacred - the happiness you seek is right where you are.
In this book a concise summary of Zen teachings unfolds within the ordinary comedies and tragedies of everyday life, beginning with the delightful nonholiness Burkett experienced in the presence of his original teacher, Shunyru Suzuki.

"A" For Content, "C" for Performance

Considering the number of technical terms in Buddhism, wouldn't it behoove a professional narrator to brush up on their pronunciations? This was embarrassing to listen to. Fortunately, the author knew his stuff. That makes up for a lot.

I expect to listen again to this book. I had to ration myself so as to make it last longer I found it so engaging.

Insightful

One of the better Zen books I've ever read/listened to. Well presented and written in my opinion.

Not bad but not great

The content is decent but the narrators voice can get monotonous and I found myself not taking anything in or finding other things to do instead of listen to the audiobook.
