Publisher's summary

What is meant by the "Great Tribulation?" Will the church endure the tribulation? Is the rapture a tenable belief? H.A. Ironside contrasts the judgment of God with salvation to determine the basis for the events of the future. He introduces biblical prophecy, connects to historical events, and offers an exhaustive biblical survey of the Great Tribulation. Most importantly, Ironside explains that the Great Tribulation differs from God's wrath or fury. Ultimately God’s judgment and wrath - and the events of the tribulation - are overcome by salvation and love. The End Times should not lead to fear but inspire hope.

do you yearn for TRUTH

this is almost entirely scripture..and not opinion. I've read many books about the end times. One of the best without weird theories and assumptions.

Superb study of an important topic

Pastor Ironside makes clear a subject often fraught with intentional disinformation. Unless one clearly understands God's timeline, needless fear and doubt will cripple faith and growth. Using the Authorized Scriptures of 1611, the student is capable of reading and comprehending the matter. Both old Testament and New Testament are used, in a simple, systemic lesson which is long enough to educate the less diligent, and short enough to encourage deeper study by the ones who desire to make a comprehensive outline for future reference.

The narrator did not follow, word for word the text in the book, but it doesn't distract the reader, and, never does it change the meaning. A few times, it is only a word, such as "but" in the place of "yet", and "furthermore" rather than "moreover". Aside from these miniscule diversions, the narrator is really good. Easy to hear, understandable. The subject seemed as if it was familiar, and I have found that helps with reading out loud.

succinct explanation of position

I liked this book because it's short and to the point. Some books on this subject are hundreds and hundreds of pages and hours and hours long. I wasn't familiar with Ironside but this little book is direct and packed with detailed scripture references on the subject of the rapture. I'm still developing my own understanding of the position and found this a very efficient resource for premillenialism.

God's Wrath Reserved For The Unbeliever

H A Ironside's writings, pelucidly delineate the purposes of God's wrath, designated only for the unbeliever. And very clearly shows that the rapture is designed for the believer who will be taken out of this present evil world to escape God's calamitous and ultimate eternal wrath. Praise the Lord for men like Dr Ironside; would that we would have more men like him today.

Good for a compilation of sermons.

It uses scripture to defend his position; despite what anyone says contrarywise having a scriptural basis for a system belief makes listen a challenging enterprise to verify, or nullify the teaching. Loved it.

Good Bible Doctrine

Very clear narration and good theology all backed up with scripture references. Dr. Ironsides was mentor to Dr. J Vernon McGee noted Bible commentator who started Through the Bible radio ministry. Dr. McGee’s recordings and materials are available at TTB.org
