Publisher's summary

The psychopath carefully selects the most indifferent and heartbreaking way imaginable to abandon you. They destroy you as a way to reassure themselves. But most importantly, they destroy you because they hate you. They despise your empathy and love, and to destroy you is to temporarily silence the nagging reminder of the emptiness that consumes their soul. Unbeknownst to both of you, this is the beginning of a great adventure....

Psychopath Free operates under the assumption that you are not defined by your pain, but instead by the subsequent choices you make along the way. The goal is to make the process a bit more holistic, to provide all the tools you'll need to find validation, self-respect, peace, and love. Psychopath Free will help you out of the darkness so that you can begin making better choices that will forever alter the course of your life.

So say farewell to love triangles, cryptic letters, self-doubt, and manufactured anxiety. You are no longer a pawn in the mind games of a psychopath. You are free.

Time you cut yourself some slack

This is the first I have read about, the aftermath of dating a disruptive person. It's the first I have heard the advice of letting the self blame go and realizing it was as bad as you think it was. Realizing that you are not the crazy one and that you aren't alone is so refreshing.

Exactly what i needed to hear

Jackson provides excellent explanation of what narcissism is and examples of narcissistic abuse. Some of the things in the book happened to me exactly as outlined. This book helped me cope after my breakup and heal from the trauma experienced while in the relationship.

Liked, expected more

I ordered this book in part due to the online supportive community for people struggling to disentangle from an abusive relationship with a "Cluster B" partner. The online community is closed to new members, and I felt disappointed many times during the reading when the importance of this community was referred to again and again. I note is warranted to let people know in advance of purchasing the book. The English accent was pleasant, but, the first chapters were redundant, and kept giving examples of abuse via Facebook, which I cannot relate to. The last few chapters were the most useful to me, and his description of his post abuse pleasant life with his cats was very touching. Rescuing cats was how I helped heal. I felt empowered and sane helping sick and abandoned animals at a time when I could not save myself. Those cats saved me 1000 times more than anything I did for them.

Informative

Audio book is easy to listen and understand the concepts. This book lets me see the person that I have never seen in the depth before - myself as an abused and my ex as an abuser.
