When It Comes to Badness, There's Nothing New Under the Sun

In her best-selling book Bad Girls of the Bible, Liz Curtis Higgs breathed new life into ancient stories depicting eight of the most infamous women in Scriptural history, from Jezebel to Delilah. Biblically sound and cutting-edge fresh, Bad Girls already has helped thousands of women experience God's grace anew by learning more about our nefarious sisters.

And there are more where they came from! With Really Bad Girls of the Bible, Liz reveals the power of God's sovereignty in the lives of other shady ladies we know by reputation but have rarely studied in depth: Bathsheba, the bathing beauty. Jael, the tent-peg-toting warrior princess. Herodias, the horrible beheader. Tamar, the widow and not-so-timid temptress. Athaliah, the deadly daughter of Jezebel. And three ancient women whose names we do not know but who have much to teach us: the ashamed Adulteress, the bewitching Medium of En Dor, and the desperate Bleeding Woman.

The eye-opening stories of these eight "really bad" women demonstrate one really life-changing concept: the sovereign power of God to rule our hearts and our lives with grace, compassion, and hope.

Fantastic book

Liz Curtis Higgs writings leaves you on the edge of your seat. Her narration of really bad girls of the Bible draws you into the time and place of what the characters do and how it relates to us.
Most of all we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Jesus is the way back to our God. He can heal our wounds and restore us if we let him just as the woman with the bleeding disorder did.

Wonderful Parallels

I really enjoyed the parallels of today and biblical times. Scripture and the English translation sometimes makes for a less than clear application for what we deal with in life today. The Audible books also make it easier for me to take my kids to the park or lake and keep an eye on them but also enjoy a good book.

Gotta Love Liz and Our Jesus!

I always enjoy Liz's books and the Bag Girls Series is one I listen to or read every couple of years to remind me Who's world I live in and Who I belong to in this world. Sometimes I think, "Wow, I've never done something like THAT" when Liz tells a modern day story of one of the girls and then God reminds me that a sin is a sin is a SIN and then I am humbled and reminded how much He loves me. Thanks, Liz, for using the gift God gave you!

Really Bad Girls

Every woman today has a part of the really bad girls of the bible, the question is do you indulge in it or push it aside. Nothing wrong with indulging in it here and there, but pick which ones you really think would not cause you to much grief. I love the author and have read all her books.

Not as uplifting as hateful

While pulling no punches, the author seems almost hateful towards men and no Christians. I was hoping for inspiration as a woman of Christ. I almost stopped in chapter but pushed on. In chapter 3 I couldn’t stomach any more.
