First broadcast in 1953-4, it was the only radio series in which Laurence Olivier played dramatic roles. Other leading actors included John Gielgud, Ralph Richardson, Orson Welles, Margaret Lockwood, Alec Guinness, Robet Donat and Trevor Howard.
