Title Appropriate

A timely story about the diminishing level of care provided to the mentally ill and the current situation where it's law enforcement and the ER that are forced to fill the vacuum. The general pattern of western medicine of ignoring the once of prevention as being too expensive and paying exorbitantly for the pound of cure that pervades healthcare in the US is apparent. Professionals in both emergency rooms and the jail and prison systems are being forced to do things they aren't equipped to do and the costs; both human and financial, are prohibitive. As a former mental health provider I am more familiar than I'd like to be with the status quo and in what direction the situation is taking. I found this t be a very informative and accurate audio.
