even though this is a short listen it covers a lot of ground and illuminates a little of the insanity behind the giant ponzi scheme

Interesting story. Cool to hear the recordings from the conversations with Madoff. The weird background music made sections of it impossible for me to listen to at times and I had to fast forward. The end space/drama music is unnecessary and really detracts from the overall experience. The writer is annoying and pretentious with too much time given to his own self-possession but the access to Madoff and the questions he poses are great. I would love to hear more free offerings like this from Audible. It makes me feel my subscription is worth it.

struggled to finish the book even though it was only six chapters. not my kind of reading.
Awesome story...lots of unanswered questions that could have easily been answered but story went shallow on too many topics. felt that he main reporter/narrator was trying too hard and wasted time reexplaining very simple concepts...prefer the serial/s-town style of reporting - this felt too rehearsed
Loved this little series, I listened to it all in one go because I couldn't wait to hear the next part.
The interviews with Madoff are fascinating especially as it becomes clearer and clearer throughout the episodes that he is still either lying or deluded.
Great listen, I definitely recommend it.
